Well, he created the hype. Came out with the “RIP Jett” and “I love Jett’s Girlfriend” t-shirt, created enemies….. and when he couldn’t back it up and actually had to deal with some repercussions from it by the general public voicing their opinions on social media what does he do ?
Censors his Instagram page and closes public comments.

I suspected he was soft when that Duke guy who makes funny t shirts said he got blocked by Deegan over a comment he had made supporting Kitchen’s takeout last year in SMX.
Now him turning off the comments when he has the loudest mouth is next level hypocrisy and damn near ironic.

By the way the constant "this goes out to all my haters and doubters" talk is so weird to me when nobody hates on his skills/riding ability, someone in his corner gotta brainwash him into thinking everyone doubts him or something, nobody would say a damn thing if it wasn't for all that cringey talk in the first place.
They’re also limited on his old posts that you could comment on previously. He changed the setting to where only the people he follows can comment.
It’s his weird way of motivating himself. He keeps telling himself everyone is jealous and hates him and that he’s got to “prove them wrong” as a way to push himself mentally. He’s been doing it for a while.

I said it in another thread, the dude needs better friends. You’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with. That body cam footage shows that the real HD is a respectful kid. His friends have been riding his coat tails and stirring the Jett Vs. Haiden shit more than him and look where it’s got him headed. He could have easily said no to wearing that shirt, or posting the donut AI image. But if he chose better people to be around, that option wouldn’t have even been required. Remember what happened with officer stew and his old crew?
Could see if he was still 16, would think he would have better judgement than that. Guess being home schooled and sheltered your entire life will lead to some poor decisions
Could have been told to shut them off by a sponsor. Why would he care what a bunch of losers on the internet care about him ? Theres not a single person who comments negatively about him doing better then him .
Of course not, comments drive up engagement and overall impressions on his posts. Whether they are good or bad it gets more people seeing his media and overall seeing his sponsors. This was clearly an ego thing, he got tired of seeing the proof that acting like a punk isn’t socially accepted and that he lost major respect from the general moto community.
For several years now the grown up fans could see HD was making an ass of himself off of the track.
Being so good on the track can only make up for so much.
We’ve been fans long enough to understand why 250s can post faster lap times than 450s at times. But it’s baffling why someone inside the HD camp couldn’t see that too.
Honestly, if the guy just has a bit of humbleness, plus his riding ability he really would be the next American hero. He may be getting plenty of clicks and follows as it is, but he’d get more if he was more likeable.
