Does anyone know what the weather has been at Thunder Valley?  If they've been getting the rain we have in my parts those ruts will be bottomless.

Coenen's will be on Pireill's @ TV . The rest of the field on Dunlops except Beta on Bridgestone's.

I have not watched a great deal of MXGP the past few years, caught all of the weekends' racing, and then after watching this video I think Lucas might be my second favourite rider to watch in action after Jett.

Going to be great watching this weekend unfold.

Going off how Sasha looks in this hard to see him outside the top 3, I hope he gets Prado at least so Prado doesn't blame the bike when he realises he can't hang with Jett.

One thing I can say about Lucas.. I've never seen anyone else being able to push a healthy Herlings this hard for wins (because usually he isn't beatable when healthy and on). This is as exciting as it gets, can't wait for Southwick specially

I expect Lucas to race smart and I expect Sacha do absolutely die out there for a win 😂

Nothing against Luca coenen...... Yes, he can beat  the herlings of today, 31 year and clearly takes fewer risks than before.......but whether he would have beaten the herlings of 10 years ago as well, nobody knows

How's that even relevant? That's like comparing Herlings to Everts, or Everts to Geboers, or Geboers to Robert. We're racing now, not 10 years ago.

There is no way to know.  The sport is constantly evolving, both in technology and technique.  On top of that, I’d have to believe that after blowing up a couple bikes this season, it would have to affect Herling’s confidence to push to the limit.  Either way, I’m confident that Lucas will never touch Herling’s records in Europe since he’s made it clear that he wants to graduate from MXGP and pursue AMA titles in both MX and SX.

They're going to get quite a shock when the track roughens up!

Yes, because euro riders in MXGP famously never have to ride beat-to-shit tracks that are trying to kill them every lap

I think you are missing some critical info in your assessment there, guy.

Under the circumstances, as many have allready stated, I would be surprised if he gets top 4, let alone beats Jet

It's just so fucking cool for these guys to take the risk to come out. I hope neither gets hurt and they both run up front in each class. Big win for us fans in NA.

Why does everyone make such a big deal of the elevation? I dont get it, maybe I'm missing something.
Except for maybe Tomac none of the top guys lives at elevation, so does anybody have an advantage here? Mxgp races at elevation every year too. Maybe not 5000ft, but over 3000

Nah, you have no idea. Herlings looks better this season than he did over the past 4-5 seasons on his KTM. Lucas and Herlings gapped 3rd by 30-60 seconds in multiple races. If it weren't for Lucas we would talk about how Herlings looks just like he did in 2018/2021, he is even getting good starts now. Sadly he had to deal with multiple DNFs that were completely out of his hands and despite that he is still 2nd in points.
Also no clue why you're saying 10 years ago, 10 years ago Herlings wasn't even on a 450 yet lol

Also "31 year and clearly takes fewer risks than before..."  yeah NO. Herlings goes out there and is willing to die for wins. Have you seen his Trentino win? Or his Sardegna ride trying to chase Lucas? He looks on the edge, just like he did in 2018 or 2021. He doesn't settle for podiums/2nd places. Current Herlings still dominates the whole field, just like he did back then, except for one guy.

Also Lucas is only 19 and in his 2nd year. That's not even the best we have seen from him yet (hopefully, who knows what it looks like when SX comes into the play).

Does this look like a guy who takes fewer risks? 🤣

If it’s the interview I think you’re speaking of he said Lucas is the best rider on sand tracks in the world.

I mean yeah you're from the NL and have a Herlings profile picture on top of that, so you're being biased in your opinion isn't really surprising to me lol

I've also watched pretty much every race of his in the GPs and got the chance to see him ride in person in 2018. Dude is still on it, but wether you want to accept it or not, Lucas is the real deal and Herlings has not slowed down at all.

I do the same and I'm forcing myself to shoot a lot more video now compared to stills.   The reason I asked is because it looks like your SS was high in that footage (not following the 180 degree shutter rule) which makes sense if you were using that lens considering most people don't use ND's with the 100-300's 112mm front filter size.  So for video I now have to put down my big whites and I bust out the slow 100-500 with the 77mm filter size which is much more manageable for Vari-ND's along with my other glass.  For the first time ever I'm using slow glass (video only) with ND filters because it works with slow SS speeds, even up to 4K 120 @ 1/250th.  Generally speaking, if things are moving at anything faster than a snails pace you should try to follow the 180 degree shutter rule as closely as possible or it will show in the footage and make it choppy.  It's probably not too important for these short moto clips, but if you are going to master video like you mastered stills you'll eventually have to consider your SS to get that natural motion blur.  Not an easy thing to do with the 100-300 though unless you get a massive 112mm ND filter.

I still think a photo/video section would be a good thing for this place.
