GH is probably my favorite but picking an active one I'd go with Spring Creek.
Least favorite is easily Fox.

Millville is a fave.. been a million times, riding and watching.
Pala and Thunder valley... do not like the way thunder preps.
X2 ,Except that the spectating is horrible.
I’ll advocate for Thunder Valley a bit, even though it is my least favorite outdoor venue I’ve been to.
Reasons it is good: easy access for spectators wanting to travel in for the race. Despite Matthes’ complaint of it being so far away from the airport it is only like a 35 minute drive from DEN. It’s super close to Denver and they have shuttles to take you from the parking area to the track. If you only want to go for the race and your goal is quick in and quick out, it’s the best.
Reasons I dislike: essentially no camping, no shade for spectators, sight lines suck for spectators unless you have access to the pro pits DURING the race. From GA you can see most of the track in some spots but then you are too far away to tell who is who, if you’re close enough to read number plates you can only see that section.
That said, I’ve been lots of times and will likely go again. Just not my favorite for a national.
fav - biasedly being born & raised in La plata Maryland, budds creek is home & #1 but outside of budds, southwick! love the sand 👌🏾💪🏾
least fav - this new version of pala, go back to 2011’s version of pala
Least Favorite is: Pala.. track is a glorified "showcase" circuit,
Favorite on schedule: Thunder, WIck, Millville, washougal.
Off schedule: Glen Helen
question though, are we talking about attending or watching? My above list is for watching.
Attending:
GH, Thunder, Hangtown - In that order
least fav: Pala
(I haven't been to any others yet, for attending in person)
Also born in La Plata, MD and graduated from La Plata HS. ⚔️
I get that T Valley doesn’t have shade or camping, but the sighting there is nearly the entire track. You can stand beneath the tunnel triple and just walk across the trail as you follow a single rider from top to bottom. Can’t do that at most places.
exactly, which is why i don't understand the dislike
McDonough HS over her 👌🏾
Favorite: Unadilla
Least: Thunder Valley
Favorite used to be Gatorback FL (never understood why it was always in the middle of the SX series). Glen Helen was always good.
Current is Red Bud, in a tie with Millville MN.
Favorite: High Point or RedBud , Ironman was up there too before the changes the last few years
Least: Pala by far
Because it was too hot later in the year for it
Favorite: Unadilla (when it had grass and less slot car racing) now replaced by Millville because it's the closest thing to natural terrain left.
Least Favorite: Pala (It's a parking lot track)
Pit Row
Nope, it was just an extension of Daytona Bike Week. Atlanta SX, Daytona SX, then Gatorback, then back to SX. When Gatorback was still part of the series they ran Atlanta outdoors in June and San Antonio in the middle of summer. They didn't care that it was hot.
I really liked Budds both as a spectator and racer. Have not raced the others though. Thunder is close to me and seems a great track but weak as a spectator venue. It just has no infrastructure to support a crowd. Not enough food, drink, restroom, or even check in capacity. Just massive lines everywhere. Location is super convenient to Denver. 15 minutes to Downton and 10 minutes to Golden or Morrison.
My favorite is Hangtown because it's the one closest to where I grew up and it's the only one I was ever able to regularly attend. (In fact, my avatar is from a local race at Prairie City - you can't call a local race there "Hangtown" lest a Dirt Digger tap you on the shoulder with a cease and desist - LOL!)
My least favorite is Hangtown because it's usually hot and it's so exposed. The landscape is miserable too. I have many memories of sunburns and just feeling beat to shit after a day out there spectating.
Favorite: Millville
Least: Pala
Favorite used to be Unadilla, 2hrs from my home….but not a big fan of this….
My least favorite are in order to start the year - Pala, Hangtown and to a much lesser extent Thunder Valley. The other eight are all pretty spectacular in their own unique ways but if I had to pick one favorite I'd say Millville.
Favorite is Ironman
Least favorite is Pala
Red Bud used to be my favorite before they hauled in all the sand and did the cookie cutter prep on it.
I've only ridden 4 and one Canadian national track but I think if I could ride Thunder Valley a little more it would probably be TV. Blackfoot in Calgary was fun too.
It used to be great 1 to 2 decades ago, now all the best viewing areas are inaccessible to the "peasants", so the decent ones get packed to capacity early and stay that way, so if you're a mover like me you're left watching a tiny section at a time. I'm so glad I escaped the frozen tundra communist craphole of New England for the south.
Favorite: Red bud. Runner up: Millville
Least: Pala by far
I'm surprised at how many people don't like Thunder Valley. From watching on TV, I always like when Thunder Valley comes around. And I've driven by the track a few times when visiting Denver, and feel disappointed that I don't have a bike with me to go ride it.
But I see the arguments why it may not be a good spectator track.
And now that I'm replying to the topic, I would say my favorite on TV is Millville, and my least favorite is Pala.
Fav: Millville
Least Fav: Pala? Rutfest anything. New Unadilla or Lakewood can be OK or terrible depending on prep.
