Jett beat Lucas by 7 seconds in the first moto at the 2025 MXoN, and by some 30 seconds in moto 3 (and Hunter beat him by over 45 seconds in that race). So if Lucas beats either of them in 2026, it would be a surprise.

What happens? I'll go out on a limb and say if Lucas beats Jett, he wins.

He's MUCH better this year. Febvre beat him for the title last year. This year he's already 100 points up on him after 8 rounds. He's not even close to his 25 form.
That said I think he'll be closer but barring any issue for the Lawrences I dont see him beating either one.

Edited: On topic, I don't see either Coenen pushing too hard this weekend. They're leading the points in both GP classes, and they're riding production based bikes at altitude. One or both may put in a crazy qualifying heater just to prove a point, but I don't think they'll do anything to risk their GP seasons.

If you listen to Lewis Phillips he’s adamant that the Thunder Valley race is just practice to get the Coenens used to the US spec bikes, race day program, team setup etc.  Their real goal is to go hard at Southwick.

I don’t see it happening at thunder valley. Last year the track was pretty “one lineded.”

Lucas was a rookie on a 450 last year, lost the MXGP title to Febvre. This year Lucas is dominating Febvre and everyone else plus Jett isn’t 100%. It’s possible. But I still don’t see it because Jett has raced Thunder Valley many times and Lucas never has.

He isnt even riding his own bike obviously plus in a close championship battle plus first time riding that track. He wont leave it all out there. Aint seeing that happen
His brother on the other hand, seriously doubt this guy even knows how to ride not giving 110 % haha tho exact same circumstances apply to him, dont think he will win either
