For any other rookie I would say: Great debut on the 450. But when you are wearing shirts like this, you should own it and destroy Jett and all others.

PS: His digs to Jett his girlfriend are below the belt, I mean what would they think when someone would use one of the leaked nudes of Hailey to screw with Haiden?

Didn't look bad, but didn't look good either... a chit talker that didn't back it up.... not a good look... heck, he wasn't even the top placing yamaha... got beat by jcoop... who never won a national title... gonna be a longgg summer, and likely rest of his career, for the cringe lord... 

The numbers don't lie, Jett went 1-1 to a 22-0 perfect season, Deegan did well considering his skill level, I would ga as far as to say he out performed better on paper then he really was.

Mid pack starts aren't going to cut it for HD or Jett

Not a fan of the guy, seems like a douche bag. He rode clean, rode forward, had a good day. He’ll be fine. Hell, he might even learn to fit in and compete with respect, and drop all the theatrical shit talking. (might)

I think he did well. Had he got better starts , I think he may have made the podium. Seemed like he tired in both motos. Definitely has room for improvement. I think he’ll be in the mix up front all year and podium several times . 

JCoop came from way back to 6th in the second moto. Meanwhile everyone knew when Deegan came from way back to 5th in the first moto. That’s exactly what I’m talking about.

He did pretty damn well. Too bad he has to come in with the crazy hype and shit talking. "Schtick" or not the shirt is fucking embarrassing.

The most notable thing to me is fitness. He talks it up. His fan base talks it up like no one is going to hang with him at the end of motos... The problem with all that is that he probably spent twice the energy of Jett just trying to stay within 5 seconds of him. Bouncing off the rev limiter and burying the bike into every corner isn't going to cut it.

I think he'll figure it out eventually and he'll have a couple notable rides this year. I'm calling his first moto win at Washougal.

Jett champ, followed by Hunter and Prado.

He did fine, but if you turn up wearing that shirt and talking all that shit, only to have a very obviously injured Jet walk away from you, while his Brother is 20 seconds further ahead… 

Ryan Dungey went 10-6 in his pro debut on the 450.  James Stewart went 6-30. Others, Like RC, RV, and Jett went 1-1, and other than Jett, they all had a season in sx in the big bikes before racing outdoors.  Jeffrey Herlings went 18-11 in his MXGP debut.  

I’m sure Deegan wanted and probably thought he’d do better, but a top 5 against guys like Hunter, Prado, and Jett is a good starting point because one thing Deegan is known for is building and getting better. It’s been a consistent theme in his career  

The only people who would have started as bad as him on the line and finished as well as him were the Lawrence brothers.  20th to 5th and 14th to 4th are pretty good in that field. 🤷‍♀️

They dont care. Any other rookie that would have done that not named Jett people would be fawning over. They just simply dont like his off the track stuff so they downplay his on the track performance.

Hunter is the man to beat. Was like this before today’s race. Why does everyone write him off!

Considering the caliber of riders who finished ahead of him and the ones behind him I would say he introduced himself to the class well. 
Besides I’m sure he’s at his new compound giving a fuck what any of you think.

Doubt that but the start is part of the race, it's a separate skill from all the other things that make up a good rider since you only use it one time a race but it is absolutely part of what makes up a rider's skills.

It was a great first day for Deegan in 450’s in my opinion. Not what his crazed fans said would happen but I never believed that anyway. 

I think he still has a chance for the 2026 SX title if I heard RC right.

It is kind of Alessi like come to think of it. Except Dbag is an even bigger shit talker. Did anyone see Jett walk off the podium? Looked like he was walking on a broken ankle. Dude still yarded the mouth. 

My guess is if he came into the class humble this thread wouldn’t be relative. The fact that he came in so hot and got smoked by Jett who hasn’t taken a a gate drop in 6 months and 4 other riders that he didn’t have on his radar really tarnished his brand. Not a good look especially on a home track. Talk shot get hit and he just got a one two combo. Grown ass men don’t fuck around and he is finding that out.

I figured he would finish top 5 with this very stacked field.  Seemed like a decent day.

But he deserves to catch some shit. If you're going to run your mouth then only winning is good enough.
