Embargo is up! I had the chance to fly to Japan about a month ago to sample the all-new 2027 Honda CRF450R, its counterpart the HRC Works Edition, and even back-to-back it against a 2026 model.

For the technical breakdown, you can hit our first look here: https://www.vitalmx.com/features/2027-honda-crf-lineup-first-look

For my riding impressions, my opinion on the changes, etc (video and written) click here: https://www.vitalmx.com/features/2027-honda-crf450r-10-pounds-lighter-12-more-horsepower-and-all-new

Imagine making tons of changes, literally saving more than 9 pounds of weight, changing the geometry, suspension, engine, rigidity… and all people care about is the f*cking color of a small piece of plastic lmao

ML, seat height is listed as 37.5”. That’s Husqvarna territory, did you notice it really being lower? This would be pretty big to me.

All decked out in graphics like the WE, the bike looks sharp. Much better than the 25-26 to my eye.

Something most of them will throw graphics over and never see on top of it.

Does no one remember the 80's when Hondas came with blue seats, fork gators and had plenty of blue in the graphics? I like it way better than the current model looks wise.

I like the blue trim.  I've just never really been a fan of motorcycles having mismatched front and rear fender colors.

Maybe we’ve seen no videos of Jett riding, because he’s been on this?

The works edition makes the blue and red there look better, IMO. White numberplates and the white panel on the shrouds balance out the colors nicely. I'm already getting used to it. Great job, Honda.

Outside of us in this community people buy bikes on how they look.

Nope. I asked Trey Canard on our trip if this bike would appear at all in Pro Motocross, and he said no. The Lawrences haven't touched it since an early-prototype phase test.

Just watched a few of the videos and am looking at pictures etc.

I’m already used to the blue! After the knee jerk reaction I think others might feel the same

Imagine making tons of changes, literally saving more than 9 pounds of weight, changing the geometry, suspension, engine, rigidity… and then letting a blind asylum resident do the design/styling for it. 😄

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

So July for regular 450, and October for works edition? Seems backwards?

Early adaptors pay more for early access. Now you have to compromise and wait if you want the factory edition. End of season also.

Works Edition always comes later. Also, I was told more like September for the regular 450.
