What is the white plastic piece for inside the fuel tank? Splash protection or something?

Looks like it keeps fuel off of the cap during sloshing to help prevent fuel spray out of the hose. Like a liquid diverter.

Ah I see. That's a possibility. According to Triumph it's called a "Fill control tube". Not sure how that helps control filling it though.

Technically it’s a fetzer valve. Surprised some didn’t know that.

it’s so you can see the fuel before it over flows out of the tank, the white provides a contrast to allow you to see it better. Or it’s the bypass valve … one of the 2😂

It keeps the fuel tank from exploding, like it’s doing in the picture.

This question reminds me of a friend of mine’s son Zach. He was just talking good (about 2, he’s 40 something now ) and in the tub, he noticed his balls for the first time.

He asked my friend “dad, what are these?”  Dad said “ those are your balls, son “ and Zack said “no, my balls are at grandma’s house “.

Fetzer valve? No one uses those anymore; it's all about ballbearings these days.

I removed the one in my 250 so I could get the hose from the fuel jug actually inside the tank. It just pulls straight out.

I find it funny that's what they call it because for me it makes it where I can't see how much gas is in the tank until it starts to come out of the top. It's hard to see past the tube on the jug when it fits almost perfectly in it. I've been thinking about taking mine off

That's the Retro Encabulator.

They were replaced by the Turbo Encabulator

Related Note, I increased the bolts in red to 4Nm and reduced the ones in blue to 3Nm and now get incredible tractorability in Zone 17.

Why do you need to see past the tube?

Everybody I know uses a Tuff Jug with a dry break...

So you want me to buy a new jug instead of using the one I already have because of a design flaw on the manufactures part? Seems par for Vital 🙄

Maybe you should take the design flaw up with the manufacturer!

Ktm uses something very similar on the suction side of their fuel pump.

Before taking it out, you should first prep it with some 3 in 1 oil and some gauze pads..
