I think he just misses out on the podium overall but will get a top 3 in 1 moto, probably moto 1.
He does NOT train with Aldon…he has always done his own program
My bad… Google AI led me astray

Pure conjecture on my part…
SX is much more about precision and total concentration for 20 mins plus, hitting the same marks every lap, with other riders in close proximity, and higher consequences for getting it wrong.
In MX you have more space on the track, multiple lines more often, sometimes you can be rewarded for just hanging it out vs precision, probably more opportunities to take short breathers.
Not one specific thing but SX does take some adapting to. Look at Hunter - never ridden a supercross track before he came to the US; 7 years later he’s on the cusp of a 450SX title.
With all that in mind my guess is Prado does pretty well up around the 15 minute mark in an SX main then deliberately backs it off when he feels things aren’t quite working for him. Preserving himself for outdoors would also be party of that thinking.
You never been to Spain? The place is desert like.
My in-laws live on the southern coast- I couldn’t believe how mountainous, dry and barren it was down there.
Prado is capable of winning it all.
He’s got more to prove outdoors than he had to prove indoors this year, and look how he came out at A1!
I think he’s ready to prove what he can do. Podium both motos, win one of them.
I envision a 3-5 for 4th OA. But I don’t think any of us really know what he’s going to do.
I do know that Jett will have a lot more outdoor prep than most and that’s probably not good for everyone else.
Arguments for top 5: He got sixth last year on the Kawi that he didn't like
Arguments for outside of top 5: Jett/Hunter/Eli/Deegan/Sexton/Ferrandis and... for Pala only ... Christian Craig. He's unreasonably fast there.
Tomac, JCoop, Plessinger.
He has topped qualifying sessions, won how many heat races now? Looked crazy fast in the whoops at times. And this is supercross. His first proper year, straight into the 450 class.
I think a Marchbanks like season would have been a pass. Can’t deny the guy is unreal, and I sure as hell don’t know where the limit is.
I feel like he’s going to be very good. At least I hope so. I don’t think he’ll fade like he does in the second half of a beat to shit 450 main in supercross. Nothing can prepare you for that.
The problem is JT is 1st in line to get on his knees for Prado
AI the misinformation machine
So 4th is out?
I don’t think his recovery has gone as smooth as some think.
I expect him to kind of start slow and build through the season. Honestly wouldn’t be shocked if we saw a Deegan, Hunter, Prado podium, not necessarily in that order.
Prado WILL have the most holeshots during the season. That translates into potential wins and podiums. The only rider that can definitely beat him without a good start is Jett. There are 5-6 guys as fast as him but they won't get the starts. He will win a few Motos and podium a lot.
100%. No way 4th is possible.
Pit Row
JT has seen Prado many times in Europe the last few years. When you have seen someone ride the way he did over there, and you have been around the sport your whole life - including all the greats ride. You don’t forget when you see someone special.
I would be surprised if he don’t podium.
That is so wrong. Spain has tons of biomes. Prado is from Galicia, northwest coast, it almost rain everyday there. Its landscape is dominated by forests and green valleys.
Plus he lived in Belgium for most of his career
I think circumstances will determine 1-5. Jett, Prado, Hunter, Jcoop, Deegan, Tomac. Maybe Chase.
Maybe an AP and Ferrandis somewhere.
No mistakes, good starts, adapt bike if needed has never been as important as for this season. You can easily end up 6th but still have had the speed to win.
Deegan wins, Hunter 2:nd, Prado 3:rd.
Jett withdrawing after practice/qualifying… not hoping this and no hate, just my feeling about this.
2nd year for Prado in the MX circuit.
Not sure exactly what to expect early on to start MX in general.
We got Jett who should be ready. Hunter coming off a great SX season, Tomac who can rail outdoors, and then a few other MX vets who shine more outdoors than in SX. Add in Deegan, who I think will need some races before really becoming a contender.
And then you got Sexton, who if could ever become comfortable/mind games on his KX should be top 5.
Really?
Are we 100% sure that Jett is ready? Strange that we haven’t had any updates on the reigning champ aside from Lars saying that he hears he is back up to speed.
Jett spoke for himself to several media outlets Saturday. He basically said he needed a second surgery and his range of motion isn’t great and won’t be for a year. He said he is showing up at round one to get points because he feels he can win the championship as the year goes on and it gets better. Then he also said something like, but I’m undefeated at pala so just going for points and not the win might be hard.
Jett is fine. He won’t be 100% for a long time but I believe he will be good enough to compete for wins at pala.
Jorge will find his settings and be on the box by round 4.
I’ve seen the guy destroy the field too many times in MXGP to doubt his talent and fitness.
I’m guessing he won’t beat the FMOTP, but will push him hard…
Fyi, the southern coast of Spain is about 500 miles from Prado's hometown, same distance from Las Vegas/desert to the redwoods/rain forest climate.
