They're my 2 favourite riders in the entire field, and I struggle to pick one to cheer for more than the other.

When I think about it, I think I'd prefer Roczen to win, especially with how big of a comeback story it would be, which could be bigger than the sport itself.

Although in the moment while watching the races I find myself cheering more for Hunter, he's been overshadowed by his little brother since moving to the US and often doesn't get the respect he deserves in my opinion.

They're both great personalities however and it will be awesome to see either one win. Just think, it would be crazy to hear on press day of A1 that the title would come down to Hunter and Kenny but here we are.

Although one thing I will say that is very unpopular to mention here is that it is really going to bug me if Roczen wins the championship within a margin of points that he would not have had he been penalised for jumping on a red cross. It's not his fault the AMA bungled that, and he has had some very bad luck throughout his career, but that was just ridiculous. One of the worst calls of all time, and the complete opposite of the AMA's MO in terms of devoutly following the rule book.

Anyway. If I had to predict the winner of the title right now, I'd give a slight edge to Hunter due to the Honda appearing to be better on the hard pack, with the last 2 tracks being probably the 2 hardest on the entire schedule. Although Ken is also no slouch on hard pack.

No matter the outcome, this has been one of the most exciting premier class sx championships of all time.

You’re not wrong on the red flag, but if Kenny wins I’m going to give it a pass due to Hunter taking him out in the sand. Call it even.

I've tried justifying it to myself that way to make myself feel better about it but I just can't. If Roczen took Hunter out and made up points that way I'd be fine with it. The red flag penalty is out of any racer's hands though. The rules should just be enforced fairly.

Also assuming Hunter would've got Webb had he not made contact with Ken during that pass, Ken only came 2 points off worse than Hunter did during that exchange, if we're considering the points gap between Ken and Hunter as the only relevant points total, whereas I believe the penalty Ken should've got for jumping on the red cross was 5 points

This did come to mind after making the post, another great redemption story.

I don't see Kenny punting Hunter for the title if he has to...but I certainly see Hunter doing it. That said, I don't think it'll come down to that. I believe Roczen has momentum, and heart in his favor.

Yeah, I'm on the KR bus.

Well, with Deegan coming in full time next year for the '27 SX...the years to come will be real slim pickins for Ken or Hunta in SX. Both know it may be hard to ever get another chance at a win, let alone a championship. Sooooo, the pressure is definitely on these 2 right now. Coop has 3, so he's solid for his career.

Too close to call. I like both riders, but in my heart of hearts, I want to see Ken Roczen win this title.

Yeah, I'm on the KR bus.

If that's what it takes to win the championship and the opportunity presents itself and 94 doesn't, well then he simply doesn't deserve the title.  Because every past champ that I can think of would absolutely do it, it's part of racing.

Both riders are, for arguments sake, clean racers. But I think if it comes down to it, either one will do what you gotta do to win the championship. I wouldn't begrudge either rider if they went full Zacho on Joey if the situation arises.

To quote The Simpsons, you don't win friends with salad.

That means you two are interconnected. You should go to his house and tell him this

Roczen has won in the 450 class all over the world. Deegan thinks dominating Levi Kitchen on a star 250 is the same as Jett Lawrence

Hard to say, but Denver will be a defining moment for both Hunter and Kenny.  I still want to say Hunter has more consistency, but that assuming it's the Kenny of the past and this new 2026 Kenny is out to prove a point.

I'm a fan of both guys and won't be disappointed if either one wins, but I'll be more gutted for Kenny if Hunter wins than I will be for Hunter if Kenny wins (if that makes sense).

Kenny’s closer to the end of his career, he’s gone through hell, I want to see him take this one home. Either way, the last two rounds are already giving me anxiety

Have ya thought about “why?”…why you’d be gutted, that is. I have.

Because we all saw Kenny’s wrist that night. And, I think, most of us see at it as “Kenny’s earned this”.

But, so has Hunter.

My head tells me that Hunter will have more opportunities to go for it; but, in the end…he’s busted his ass for many years. So, that’s how I figure Hunter’s earned it, too. But, in the end…

It’s simple: May The Best Man Win.

Btw, am I the only one that finds this kinda nerve-wrecking? 🤨

C’ya at the races…Denver and SLC…this has to be seen in person. 👍🏼

Kenny is good at sprinting from the gate. Which is the way to pressure a title Rival at the last few rounds. Even guys who dont have a history of folding under pressure sometimes do when its the last race or two. I want to see them battle each other and win off speed. Zacho got Savatgy for a championship one time, and I understood. But. I wasnt impressed. Im thinking Hunter is gonna be Smx champ anyways.  Which is not too shabby, arguably the most prestigious championship now(im sure sponsors and manufacturers dont see it that way but......maybe they should.)

Not a apples for apples but for example: athletes outed for steroids aren't looked upon as winners. To me, if you blatantly take a guy out its isn't really real. Hunter wants it the right way im sure, otherwise he would've parked his brother a bunch of times to get ahead, you can bet he knows how lol. And, maybe his own brother is the one guy id forgive him for taking out for a championship , Jett def gets a sick thrill beating him. Of course, Hunter intentionally fostered that by probably constantly outrunning him when he was faster(Most there lives).

If needed, Kenny is owed (1) takedown of Hunter and I dont think anyone would disagree.
I like both of the riders and would not be disappointed whoever wins it.
Yes Hunter has more years to win it and I feel he has elevated his game that he will be in the mix the next 5 years.
Jett and Danger will have their own warfare going on which leaves Hunter to capitalize.

I’m going with Ken.  His experience and recent form gives him the edge in my opinion.  I typically felt Hunter was less effective under pressure, leading to occasional mistakes.  But from MXoN on, he’s been better.  Well, except for a couple weeks ago, that was a pretty serious crush to his points lead…

I'll be honest...if Jett comes back %100 and Deegan stays healthy...no one else is gonna be winning much.  Thems just the facts.

I did say "if" "and"...things don't always work out the way you think they will.🙃

Got that right. I’ve won one “club championship”, and a few “podium club championship years”in my career.

The guy that gets lapped and finishes last in the main would have waxed me in my prime.
It’s a different level.

If it were true: I’d wear the T shirt that said “I made the main” every day for the rest of my life. 😊

I go play bingo at the local church occasionally.
I had a shirt made the reads “ 1982 Marion Country Fair Bingo Championship Runner-UP”.   Of course I walk in with a little strut in my stride, cowboy hat, dark shades as well as my green snake skin boots.
I do get a lot of looks.
My son wears a shirt that he offers on-line Bingo Lessons.

I held off on posting this as its kinda soft, but given the above dialogue...

As much as I love the theater of a "winner takes all" SLC main event, I kinda hope "something" happens in Denver to split them enough to where the SLC outcome is more probable for one or the other.

Simply because they are both amazing people, and arguably the 2 most deserving of an SX title in the paddock following years of adversity. For the both of them to be this ridiculously close to taking it, unfortunately 1 inevitably is going to be absolutely heartbroken. Hunter has been the bridesmaid to Jett all of his career, and was 1 point from claiming the SMX title both last year and the year prior. He has massively upped his game this year and has had the red plate the majority of the season. Ken's story tells itself.

Both deserve the crown, but neither deserve the heartbreak.

Sorry I disagree with your first sentence. That wasn’t a takedown and nothing is owed, it was a racing incident, nothing more, nothing less.

I've never been in a spot where I want both guys to win so equally. As far as who I'm more a fan of, its Hunter. But when I listen to the AC/JB podcast interview of him, it really makes me want to see Roczen win. He's gotta know what's on the line these last 2 races so he'll be leaving it all on the table. Anyone think Webb is an X-factor in these last couple races? He's been riding well to close out the season and I'm sure he's really motivated to keep Kenny from getting that elusive sx title. It probably wont matter though as he just hasn't had the speed to compete with Hunter and Roczen this year when the conditions are dry
