I like Theo, but that was rough. Theo by himself is hard to listen to. When he interviews people it is a lot better.

I’ve listened to a good amount of his stuff and liked most of it. He can come off as trying too hard at times and it isn’t funny. I think he is at his best when he is talking about something serious and the comedy just accidentally spills out. That is where his talent is.
Yes I would say years ago, it would just roll out naturally. It does seem like he is forcing it or trying to hard...

Theo is an acquired taste, especially when he does these solo This Past Weekend shows. Its basically just him riffing about recent events in his life, not some written out rehearsed act. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. His best This Past Weekends is when he is interviewing females. He says goofy stuff, they laugh and flirt with him.
I thought it was just cool that he talked about our niche sport.

He’s like the local class clown that runs out of material and tries to re use the same material in different forced ways. I am from near his hometown BTW and can only take little bits of him. There have been a couple others from the South that have had a similar course in different genres but not quite as big. Poopoo Broussard and Stale Kracker come to mind.

Von is just the latest Southern guy to get a free pass for making fun of and ridiculing his own kind. Foxworthy, Larry the cable guy and Thorton all had prior clearance. Just adjust for the times.
I think Theo is funny but he's just anther dude that uses his large platform to boost right-wing dickheads so that's why I stopped listening to his show. He is genuinely witty but your comment does make me think a bit more about his prominence.
