Not really a vent here , but just saying it seems pretty shady. Last year after I made sure I had Auto-renewal turned off it somehow got turned back on and they charged me for the entire yearly pass. Money for me at this time of year is always pretty tight , so i usually sign up after I get busy with work.

So a few weeks ago I double checked that my Auto-renewal was indeed turned off. It was still turned off. Last night I went to the MXGP main site to see exactly how much it was for a yearly pass ( $155.00 USD)....low and behold, they already charged me again.

I've seen other's complain about it too , which to me it's not that big a deal , but sheesh , it seems shady as heck for them to do that.  Again , I'm not super pissed as I planned on getting it within the next month or so. Just didn't really want it at this time due to my slow work schedule this time of year.

It is shady. But... it's also money well spent.

First 450 moto soon to start. Track looks fun. Field is stacked.

I'll add to the chorus, the contrast with the US broadcast is both stark and welcomed.

I had a similar problem with YTD (YouTube downloader).

My daughter wanted to download some songs so I subscribed to YTD for a month costing $6.99. I made sure the auto renewal was off.

The kept grabbing $6.99 for 6 months. I sent countless mails and got zero replies. On month 7 I went to my bank and had my Bank Card number changed. That was the only way I could stop them from billing me.

That’s fucked. It’s insane how anti-consumer so many companies are now. Everything is done to maximize profits with almost zero regard to the end user. It sucks man, I hope they make it right somehow.

Talk to your credit card issuer and do a chageback.  It's an easy and effective way to deal with unscrupulous merchants.

Peacock did the same thing to me.  My credit card company took care of me.

I'm having the opposite problem. I'm trying and trying and trying to purchase and my Nazi bank keeps declining my card. Had this same fucking problem with these assholes the last couple years, along with MxDN ticket purchasing.

Too late for you but for anyone else, just delete your credit card details from the payment method and then they don't have an account to steal from.

It most definitely is worth it in my opinion too , it just the point of it all. Oh well I'm not going to fuss over to bad , as I now have more moto than I can possibly watch. And the 450 class over there this year seems stacked as heck. Should be some great racing.

I think It automatically does that when you cancel your renewal? Maybe I'm wrong on that?  Anyways...I gotta get a separate card for things like this.

I remember my bank doing that a long time ago , and it seems now days it pretty much lets anything go through. It's always at the wrong time too.

I just had this issue with MLB and their streaming service for the season at $130... I disputed with my bank and then MLB sent me a refund.

People always say this but I’ve never had it work and it was also a ton of paper work involved.

That's my program. A card I load with like $5 more than I need to subscribe -- and then the account is basically empty unless I do it again.

Arenacross, GP, Adobe, whatever, they've all tried to hit that card perpetually only to come up empty. I get notified, and sometimes I'll reload, other times don't.

Same here. Luckily my card number changed as I got hacked so the charge never went through. Makes me never want to give them my money again.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to get it this year. I won't do that with a company that plays that game. MXGPtv, if you're listening you just lost at least 1 customer.

As a rule, I report my CC's lost once or twice a year. It takes 7 days for a new CC, oh well! It limits my errors and the "errors" of others. Those that are valid reach out an provide an oppurtunity to update......

Sleazy way to do business,  got caught in that with natls couple years ago, had to dispute it through card company to get refund. Pain in the ass and I refuse to subscribe again.

For some reason it's way cheaper in NZ

Costs us (Aus) about $320

I don't know. I didn't cancel my subscription last year, just removed my payment info and it never auto-renewed so I know it works. I bought the 2026 subscription last week and I've already deleted my card details. I'll always buy the package but that's up to me and not them!

Last time I checked “cancel subscription” meant it’s supposed to be cancelled. Like for good. Until I choose to purchase a new one. I shouldn’t have to delete my payment info when I’ve clearly cancelled the moment after purchase to specifically have it for one season and not have it auto renew. It’s a strange world we’re in where we blame the victim for what is essentially theft.

I had to deal with a suspension company charging me in April one year and not shipping the parts I ordered. Kept saying I'll get it in the mail next week... Anyway in Aug I called Bank of America and they just said they would do an investigation. They called Dave and once he admitted to not shipping my stuff I was refunded, I don't recall any paperwork. I've also asked for refunds from PayPal with no issues.

You can thank your elected officials for a lot of this. It's probably different in Europe, Australia, NZ etc.

But here in the godd ole USA where money and lobbyist's rule your policticians, things like this are legal here. Oh, the CC company can and will get you refunded, but there are laws that allow companies you've established business with to legally do this without repercussions to them by law. You as a customer might give them repercussions by cancelling, but they aren't breaking laws by doing this.

You'll even notice credit card companies, banks you use, insurance companies you use etc, that send information sharing Opt in or Opt out disclosures. Even is you choose Opt Out, they can still share your information with companies owned by them or affiliated by them. It's because years ago your politicians took lobby money and passed laws making that legal. It's the world we live in, being owned by the corporations.
