Kid has the skills but this is still another learning year imo. If he stays healthy and continues to grow both on and off the track in 26’, he will be a force come 27’ SX.

Cole isnt comfortable in front of a camera, and some of his answers are just awkwardness, it's like when people ask him questions he feels like he is getting attacked. Pretty hard to go from little NZ to being a star almost overnight. He will get better with time, he's still just a kid.

Really like this kid´s riding, he seems like a deer staring at a headlight when interviewed, i know i would look like that too when i was 17. Nothing stops him from winning the sx east championship in his 2nd season.
Cole Davies is the most talented rider on a supercross track I’ve seen in a very long time, including Jett. His whoop speed is unmatched right now across both classes, he has good not great race craft but that can be learned. People who say he has something for Jett when the time comes know what they’re talking about.
Not to be pedantic, but Deegan got DQ’d from the 50cc 7-8 class for running a big bore (followed by his dad making a scene allegedly), so I believe that would put him in 2nd grade when the hating really started. 🤓
It’s really quite amazing…. SX is not a thing at all in NZ the only track we have is townleys private one which is where Cole cut his teeth. Whoop speed is out of this world, he’s making BT look darn good at his job. I’m just stoked to have a kiwi contender to root for again, it’s been 20 years. Kid has got some spunk - I like the CR22 comparison, style for Miles… might get in the big class just as quickly too.

Speaking purely to his riding because I know he ended up winning, did anyone else feel like there was something wrong with Davies last night? He looked like he was riding the second half of the race with no intensity, especially compared to Deegan and Hammaker. Maybe he was banged up or carrying an illness? Has he been training with Kitchen?

Deegan has been racing 4 seasons and Cole 2. He still needs expirience and a fitness base that is accumulated over the years.
Yeah I expected him to pull away last night. I thought something was off. He's still so young and figuring this all out. Kid is going to be a force in the future. I'm excited to see him this summer. I see some call him a sx specialist but he came off the couch last summer and won a moto. People forget that.
Davies can certainly win the title this year but in his coast the current competition is much closer to him to give him fits if he has a bad race etc. Its tight and I don't think you can count out some of the veterans in the class like Joe etc.
Crazy though that star has what seems like the best 2 250 guys right now in SX. Not sure what Cole can do in outdoors. Seems like Kitchen or Joe likely the favorite there.
Im all with u on that take but wanted to point out: Davies finished 3rd in that first moto at budds creek. Deegan (1st) and Jo (2nd) got penalized which gave Davies the moto win afterwards. Still impressive to come in in 3rd from the couch.
Joe a favorite for sure outdoors. No confidence in Kitchen anymore as a title favorite ever until he turns some things around. I'd like to see one of the young American kids be a revelation outdoors like we havent seen in years. Drew Adams? Dudney? Pretty sure Blair said about Dudney he's from another planet when it comes to mx. He did go 7-13 in his professional debut at Dilla last summer.

I think he won a moto outdoors last year, didn't he? I agree he wasn't nearly SX level in MX but he also hasn't gone into a MX season healthy and with proper prep. I'm not expecting him to be Jett/Eli/Deegs level outdoors where he's just better but maybe he can get there. Seems he needs to work on entering and carrying speed in corners in SX. Maybe that translates to MX too.
After the two riders in front of him got penalized after the moto…his 3rd turned into a win…
