Man its insane that the ktm was tomacs only option and it ends up his favorite bike of all time. Crazy how much chase hated that bike because he also looked the best he ever had on it too! Sure he didnt have that final 1% of top end speed that he had on the honda, but that was never sustainable, he washed the front 1000 times on the honda. On the ktm he had the most sustainable speed hes ever had on a 450… and it showed, he dominated his outdoors championship. Crazy how good the bike looked for chase and now tomac yet chase threw it in the trash. Congrats eli, this is so fun to watch!!

Chase should’ve never left that KTM. Dude went last to first in a national on it….why on earth would he leave that bike.

It was never the bike. He said bike but he meant team. Who knows why he didn’t gel with the team. Should have figured it out.

With those shock issues last year I was really concerned about mechanical issues this year on KTM. I hear they got all new suspension - but I was concern that there could be problems. Tomac and KTM performance this year was way above my expectation. I expected him to win and be competitive, but jeez. Credit to Hunter for rising above too. Going to come down to those to.

ET just getting the bike dialed for him on all these different surfaces and conditions. Can’t wait for outdoors. It’s going to gnarly. With all the power.

We all said it. Man, Chase looks so good on the KTM! Why is he leaving?! Here we are. Eli straight looking like the Yamaha was holding him back

He also loved Millsaps kx450 when he got it in 2016. He also loved Plessingers yz450 when he got it in 2022. Tomac is a beast.

Coming into the year if you told me Eli never won another race since the switch I wouldn’t have been surprised.. Never did I think he would be the most complete we have maybe ever seen him.. great starts, consistent and always up front, it’s amazing how well this switch has gone!

Just another thing pointing to his greatness. The ability to be world class on anything he rides. His staying power and longevity is moving him up the list of all time greats for me

Maybe Chase left KTM because of the financial uncertainty of the company at the time.

As with riders having different skill levels and results, I keep wondering if this is a skill thing for the KTM team vs the Kawi team. Doesn't mean the Kawi team isn't working hard or good guys. If Eli and the KTM team members - all of them -  switched to Kawasaki - would they still be as successful? I think so.

Same way Yamaha became more successful when taken over by Star. The competition isn't limited to the rider - it's the entire team.

So fun to watch Eli on the KTM. Just imagine the knowledge he is bringing the team for future riders too….

This is absolutely not it.

He's been very vocal about why he left. You can search this, it's everywhere

It's 80% rider and 20% team.

Kawi was a top tier championship/title contending team for like 15+ straight years from Stewart, to vilopoto, to tomac... And hasn't been since tomac left

And Yamaha being a championship team isn't because star took over.... It's because of the massive funds being dumped into the team and being able to afford the very best riders

Look at pro circuit. They are the same team, same leadership that for 30+ years was the premier team for 125s/250s .. but now they struggle because Star is scooping up the biggest up and comers. All the best guys want to go to star instead of procircuit

I've always been a big ET fan. Especially when he was on a Kawi, since I'm a team green guy. But holy hell that guy can ride. No matter what bike you put him on he just wins. He's a badass.

Chase dominated an outdoor season on the KTM with Jett out, let’s not forget that. I like Chase, but I don’t think he would’ve beat Jett for that outdoor title had Jett stayed healthy. I know I know, Jett had to have been there, but even the best version of Chase on the KTM wouldn’t have beat Jett over the course of 22 motos imo.

Crazy that Kawi was winning with Ward, Larocco, Keidroski, Emig, and RC before Stewart, RV, and Tomac.

Not really, May 2025 is when the Bajaj cash infusion came. Prior to that, the future of KTM was very much in question. They'll likely the turning point that gave Eli confidence.

Regarding Chase leaving, rumors have swirled that KTM didn't have an adequate spare parts budget, and that the team didn't pay some bonuses at the time he chose to leave. Rumors are just that, but it might explain the exodus of Chase, Vialle, and Herlings.

I think Eli would win on any well suspended  brand, his bike skills and race craft are undeniable.

We are halfway through it and I think he hates the green bike also

Can't even make this up. Chase leaves Honda. Jett dominates on it the same year. Chase leaves ktm. Tomac looks as good as he ever has at 33 years old. The only guy able to keep up with him is on a Honda. And the next closest guy is on a Suzuki

I don't think Chase is the problem or the team is the problem...

The problem is his dad, he needs to do what RV did and build him a big, pay him a salary and say thanks pops for everything but we will take it from here.

It alway was and still is Chase. It was never the bike or team. He looked great on the Honda and KTM. He looked great on the Kawi the first few rounds. He made a couple of mistakes but he always has. Nothing new. It's always been in his head. Why would it be any different now?
