Saw this announcement today. Yamaha USA to relocate to Georgia. I wonder what other companies will follow?

@ML512 when is vital making the move?
Maybe once everyone is there the southeast will be able to get an outdoor round again?
If one OEM is doing it, they're all thinking it.
Ktm isn’t doing it. They just spent waaaaaaaaaay too much money in Murrieta for that.
I thought they did this a while back? I know they moved something there a few years ago. Their building in Cypress looks empty every time I go past it.

They reorganized in 2018 and moved all of Motorsports to Georgia except for Testing and Racing departments and Yamaha Cypress is still full of other departments but I saw this move coming a few years back with cost of that building and California taxes.
Kawasaki almost did before committing to their new building for I think 10-15 years?
We're already a bit spread out. No central office anymore. Sales staff are all in California. I'm in Cali. We have guys in Nevada, Florida, Arizona, Idaho etc.
Would you like one more guy in South Carolina? I'm ready to triple backflip off this corporate ladder.
Pro Circuit gets a lot of free advertising from the million cars that drive by their building every day....
Nissan left Gardena, Ca in 2004, Honda corporate in Torrance has 2/3 less employees and Toyota moved out of Torrance for Texas in 2016. At one point Honda had close to 9000 employees in Torrance. Parts Unlimited moved their large distribution center out of Ca about 10 years ago.
Yamaha already has a lot of its operations in Kennasaw, Ga.
I thought they went to GA years ago. Apparently not all.
I thought that too, seems like old news.
I just read the release…. Yamaha Motorsports moved in 2019.,
To think Southern California used to be the "mecca of motocross." Those days, and A LOT of the tracks I grew up riding/racing at, are sadly gone.
Lots of businesses seem to be fleeing the insanity of California these days. The taxes, overbearing regulations, etc. It's a wonder any corporation chooses to remain in CA.
13% state tax is a hell of a drug.
Free?
Good job Gavin Gruesome, In & Out, Jack in the Box, Yamaha, the list goes on..
Pit Row
The man who can read very fast , or not at all, depending on the color of the person he is talking to . You get what you vote for.
Hahahaha bullshit I didn't vote for that clown
I didnt mean you specifically LOL..... your Avatar rocks.
They've just shut two oil refineries and the most expensive gas in the country has gone up 10% since my last fillup....kinda ironic to run a motorcycle or sports company from here.
Can we get rid of some of the Cali SX rounds now??
And to think, Newsome wants to be do what he has done for California for the entire country . Will pass.
Nope. Weather is favorable and they fill the stadiums. Until that changes why would they move?
the hoops you have to jump thru just to buy a bike there and be able to ride it when you get home is crazy. can buy any bike i want, slap a trail sticker on it and go rip thousands of miles of trails here. its no wonder why any of the bike manufactures want anything to do with california besides their ports which are soon to be out of reach costly i'm sure
Ill never move away from the south east.
Yamaha should've just moved the office to Mike Pelletiers backyard.
This. As a moto/auto racer/fabricator of 30 years... I dont even know what a "Cadillac convertor" is (sarcasm) or what a SMOG test even means. 😆
If it has a rear view mirror, a brake light and a front bumper... you're golden in Michigan.
