Don’t we always hear about the AMA kneeling to Honda? 

Yeah maybe now we can get equal displacement 2/4 stroke racing, DC can’t blame it on Honda threatening to take their ball and going home!

The only way I see to go forward is for Honda to just win out.

And now vital is going to ask the AMA for comment?

The ruling is a bummer and Honda has gotten the short end of the stick several times the last couple of years.  Jett at Ironman being docked a full lap was insane.  Detroit I believe it was when people didn’t see the red flag off the finish (Eli may have been the only dude to see it?)

Now these 2 incidents that happen to only negatively effect Honda 

Did Honda not know the red lights on the jump before the finish were just a warning light for a possible Red Cross flag on the finish line (not a “do mot jump” light)?

If they didn’t know that rule, then that’s on them….if they did know the rule, and didn’t apply it then they have nothing to complain about….

Edit:  here is the screenshot from the 2026 rule book…says NOTHING about warning lights and all that.  The AMA screwed up big time on this one and they need to fix it!

Let me get this right. It used to be a rule violation if you jumped on a red cross flag or flashing red light. Now, in the 250 class it's okay to jump on a flashing red light as long as there's no red cross flag shown. In the 450 class it's okay to jump on a red cross flag as long as a flashing red light is not shown. Did I get that correct?

Good for them. AMA needs to feel a little heat on this one.

Honda has very deep pockets. Comparatively, the AMA doesn't even have pants on, let alone pockets. And Feld have no say in this as they are a promoter, not the governing body that makes and enforces the rules.

I hope Honda take this as far as they need to, to make the AMA grovel and come back with their tail between their legs and apply the correct penalties. 

This whole thing could have been avoided but some pompous prick with an AMA shirt didn't want to be embarrassed for missing 2 obvious infractions.

Ummm….no rider has said they knew this convoluted bs the ama is spouting.  We know Brown didn’t know.  He just said he didn’t see the light.  It was on.  Good chance he was so focused on the track he missed the light.  Not an excuse based on past penalties.  The riders, current and past, that I have seen comment never heard the supposed ama excuse.  Honda is actually my least favorite team, although I am a Jo fan, but they got totally screwed on this.

The ama rule book is more what you'd call 'guidelines' than actual rules. 

Sue the shit out of them, Honda, and FORCE them to follow their own rules. FFS, how do we get to this level of ass covering bullshit?

Even just for the sake of rider safety moving forward. Good grief.

250s ok to jump because red light and no flag. 450s ok to jump WITH FLAG because no red light... Like what?!

Ama are obviously just making it up as they go along. It's ridiculous. 

Just admit they eff'd up, make the corrections, sack the morons who made the light/flag mistakes and it'll be ok. Problem is the guys who made the mistakes were probably volunteers so nothing will be learnt.

What is something that a team of this stature can do to show the middle finger to the AMA, apart from a statement like this? Only things I can think of hurt Feld - not the AMA. 

Got to be super frustrating for them. The AMA is so incompetent. 

Nothing to do with who benefits. 

Everything to do with fairness. 

Not knowing , does not excuse you from not complying. 

How they expect riders to make split second decisions based on 3 different inputs , on the face of a jump, and not die as a result? 

It has to be, and only be, a binary system, Red or Green, that is it.  

There is no mention of the lead on lights in the rule book, even the buffoon himself Mike Pelletier admitted it on record and said they will add it to the rule book starting the next race.

HRC/Lawrences are absolutely taking this to court if Hunter loses the title by a couple of points to one of the riders that jumped.

Still no mentioning about how or if Honda or riders have been informed about the lead in lights. Don't understand why they don't address that part since I don't think AMA is disputing what's in the book has had colors added to it in outside channels/forums.

So the fuck-up is that AMA added the lead in lights for SMX to test it. Briefed everyone about it at riders meetings. Then changed from yellow/Orange to red for 2026 and again briefed riders about the function. If they called in lead in or not doesn't matter as RJ hinted he never heard about that part.

I guess in light of possible appeals etc we might not hear more from neither Honda or AMA unfortunately on the specific events? Interview with Mike P next weekend would be mandatory.

Why arent the so called lead in lights flashing yellow to warn riders.

And flash red if they have to roll ie rider down.

Absolute shitshow of a set up, someone fucked up and left the lights flashing for 40 secs in 250 race and roughly 15 riders jumped. Jo got screwed.

450 race Eli, Kenny and maybe Coop jumped on the medic flag they should lose 5 pts.

For FS they did not test lead in lights in SMX.

There have been lead in lights for at least 10 years.

And please give up the orange lights bs. 
Again, no orange lights ever in the modern era.
