Man there’s some weirdos on this board sometimes. Not sure why they all come out of the woodwork to bash Austin.

I’ve never been much of a Forkner fan, but I don’t get it. Kicking someone while they’re down is a dog act.

It's because Austin is/was a winner and losers love to see a winner fail because it's the only way they'll ever be at their level.

Didn’t his hand blow off and cause another crash as well? He seems like the nicest guy that has the worst luck. Truly hope he’s ok, we all only have so many crashes in us

Gotta give Hill his props here as well.

And Tomac and Ando stopping.

I really like when it feels like Moto is community minded.

And do what ? 90% of these guys have no other options but to keep racing. It’s how they feed their families. They don’t have an education or skills to make a living doing anything else. Many never finished high school and most home schooled.

Edit - this was not meant to be a directed towards Austin. He’s shown his love and desire to win, I was generalizing what some of these riders face.

Big Forkner fan…and Yea…I know you will get down votes…but I’m not sure where Forkner would fit in post race industry.  Test rider…no for health, trainer…I don’t see it,  broadcast…no, team manager…probably not.  Sure, gear or something maybe….but for what pay there?  It’s not a guarantee.

As for education…I agree for many.  I ride Thunder Valley during the week some, and always see the same kids ripping on 65s.  I said to one of the kids during a break by my truck, “shouldn’t you be in school?”.  He laughed and said, “homeschool…but this is way more fun!”  Of course it is…but how serious are they taking the homeschooling?  I’m sure his dad thinks he will be the next Eli…but odds of that are small….odds of life off the track is high…..but what can you say?  That’s what this has become in this ultra competitive sport.

Hate to say it but back in the day everyone homeschooled rode the short bus to the ged or diploma. (Of course there are exceptions) But, now all the people I know that have any kind of money will not send their kids to private schools and it seems to be working out. I was always anti homeschooling but I think that changed.

Also, a lot diff with mom and pop who want to raise a future mx pro. Than say it would be with mom and dad who want to raise a successful kid and is putting education first not motocross.

This thread is an example of how stressed, angry, and bitter a lot of people in society are now. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you don’t mean to be rude assholes, but it’s just that you are so overwhelmed that your own personal frustrations are just oozing out through the keyboard.  Maybe some of you should look back and delete your posts.

Homeschool is not the problem, its whether or not you are actually learning or not.  You can learn a lot doing homeschool, or learn next to nothing, same as in public school.  You can graduate from public high school in California and barely be able to read.  I wish I was joking.....

‘In California…’ when there’s at least 10 other states with lower literacy level.

If you ABSOLUTELY MUST make political statements in moto-related, maybe try not to show your own clear ignorance when doing it.

People are so fuckn strange nowadays…. I agree with your take, also think social media/internet has re wired people’s brains, grown men say and do a lot of feminine shit online that would never fly in real life. Anyway, wish AF all the best, hope the injuries aren’t too serious.

Ive never seen anything like that video. Was it really the case that roczen, eli, ando, and hill ALL were able to get to him and help the bike off him before any AMA track crew? Wtf is that? That video looks good on one hand having them all stop and help, but looks horrible that all the top guys saw nobody helping and so they all had to go do it themselves. The ama track crew is looking worse and worse every week, get it together guys.

Can’t tell … was he wearing the Alpinestars Tech Air MX inflatable protector ?

I don’t believe he is anymore, which for the life of me I can’t figure out why he wouldn’t? He has his own highlight reel of brutal crashes in his career and this sport has damn near killed him. Obviously not my business why he doesn’t wear it anymore, but from the outside looking in I just can’t make sense of it. Hope he’s ok. Gutted to hear about it yesterday

Doesn’t Austin’s dad run the biggest hog farm in Missouri?

Looks like Austin’s parents farm 1700 acres and breed truline genetic pigs he’s gonna be fine.

Again, this post is about him taking a brutal hit. Why are we even talking about his family’s farm and money? It’s irrelevant.

Just wish the guy well and hope he comes out healthy. The lives of these guys and their families can be changed in an instant, meanwhile the rest of us fans will move on while they have to live with the consequences. Just enjoy the racing and leave the personal life jabs and opinions out of it. It’s weird.

I sure would like to see a post from the team that he is ok.  Really hoping Austin is not injured.   I've been a fan for years.

A lot of people on this board  love to bash riders and sometimes the riders family members..

Was trying to read through this to see if there was an update on him. But I cant even go through 1 page.

How can people right away turn this thread into something negative towards forkner.

Even if the best for his health would be to back down, why not support him for his love and dedication for the sport. Maybe he just lives for this sport and dont want to quit no matter what!

I stand behind that all the way. With his injuries and comebacks I can not assume he is doing it for either money or fame. But for himself.

Even if the crash isn't 450 related, time to put him back on a 250 and get on the box.  He'll need some results if he wants a top tier ride next season.
