Why doesn’t someone in his ear let him know when he’s mucked it up?

Amazing to me how many people just don't turn their sound off....  so many good live race watch parties on all the platforms..

Which reminds me... how long till vital has a live watch along show that we can actually listen to during the race??

I was about to comment this hahaha hearing 'dooocarrddeee' makes me giggle every time. Dr Suess vibes.

Imagine correcting an Italian word… in the wrong language

Italian; Correct :doo-KAH-tee /duˈkaːti/

A De-cat-ie is a Ducati with Decal Works graphics on it.

You can be very well educated, intelligent even, and mispronounce words. We all do it.

It’s also pretty difficult to reprogram yourself to pronounce a word you’ve used for years differently.

What we can probably say with far more certainty is that getting annoyed enough about pronunciation to whinge about it on the internet is a sign of poor emotional self control. 😁

What is a De-cat-ie? - would it be one of those Bastards that go around with a Sawzall in the middle of the night, getting under peoples cars?

Here in OZ, ,we say:  "Dew (Due) - Cat - Ee." (but, all together). I've worked with the brand for near on 5 decades now, and that's how I've . and any other fellow workers / owners here say it.

If you are bitching about a certain OZ commentator saying it as has been quoted here at the start - don't think we here say it like that - he's a (strange) species all of his own!

Of course you do. Accents and dialects will determine the “rule” which means everybody does it.

I don’t think this is an accent problem. It’s a mispronunciation problem. I’ve heard people with British accents pronounce Ducati the correct way.

It's Deck-ill.  Those graphics look better on the Beat-uh though.

I'm sure if Australian Football hired an American to be the play-by-play announcer, Australians would have some complaints.

I know this sounds like the old man who walked uphill both ways to school barefoot but I don't crap on the broadcast too much. In the 80s and 90s and even into the mid 00s it was impossible to watch these races. I had to set my VCR to record at 3AM for a SX race that was weeks even months earlier. So ill take it in Spanish or Russian if necessary LOL .

I read Arnold Schwarzenegger's book and he joked about getting a refund on the accent correction courses he took
