I like the unique takes, there's something about the "right" font for a rider that conveys both power and individual style. For instance, every time I see Hunter and Jett it feels like they drew straws for the cool/power font and Hunter lost.

It could be worse though, Hunters is still better than the TLD Ducati fonts. Zero "power factor" in that IMO.

I always liked Tomac's Dale Earnhardt-esque 3. Strong, bold, you know exactly who it is, regardless of the color of bike it's on.

Hunters entire brand leans very art deco at times

Unless you’re looking at a pic of Febvre, that one seemed a strange move.

You've got big balls going with the 5.   Most tape number applications stick to more simple configurations.

If they are going to stylize the numbers, bring back the side panels. That triangle bullshit is Blech.

Not sure what the font type name was called on these from late 70’s-early 80’s, but they had some character IMO…

This drives me insane. Even seeing it on someone’s bike at a local track it bothers me for some reason lmao

I need to send Decal Works a note to see if they can do that font. I always liked that.

I did not like the accent lines next Cooper Webb's "1".

I know every one wants a cool looking bikes, but it sure would be nice to have numbers big enough to see when watching the race.

I’ve always been a sucker for NASCAR numbers on a MX bike. Brownie running the Earnhardt Sr. #3, DV running the Ryan Newman style #12

Where Are They Now: Micky Dymond - Racer X

I've always loved the Mickey Dymond #6 font.

So at Anaheim over the weekend the number official was getting on more than one rider regarding the side panel number sizes. How you figure to get larger numbers on these panels anymore is beyond me. Funny thing is, the guys wife was standing nearby and was overheard asking her husband/official ... is it really a big deal ...?

You have one job ... 🙄

This was a friends YZ100 that he owned for about 5 minutes. He let me borrow it for a vintage race, and before I returned it, I put his number on it, and did some overlap shadow trimming like the privateers did in the 80's and 90's!

It was so cool in the 70's and 80's reading the moto magazines and seeing all the different ways manufacturers were experimenting with number plate shapes and locations.

Yeah, I'm not sure he ever even raced it? I borrowed it shortly after he bought it, I cleaned it up, added some "Fast Guy" stickers and dialed in the number plates as thank you for letting me borrow it. Then he sold it not long after, in true Kevin fashion!
