I’m setting here watching chiefs and Bronco’s.  I’ve ate everything and drank everything  wrong last few days.  I’ll be glad for the holiday's to be over.  I’m ready to get back to eating right.  I started this post and screwed up the worst last few days lol

I’m scared to get on the scales but I’m planning to make an impressive comeback !!!

I ate so much Christmas dinner if I got stuck with a pin right now I'd fly around the room.  Glad I picked "Weigh in Wednesday" to track my progress lol I have 5 days

Y'all are being a bit hard on yourselves especially yourself wwdiii. You got this whole thing going. It would be extremely difficult to turn down all the holiday treats when you're hanging with family.

January, however, is a different story. I am trying to reset things myself, for things probably worse than enjoying food at Christmas. 😄

Since I started tracking on Nov 29 at 209lb, I'm down to 200.4lb this morning, just sticking with my intermittent fasting plan, looking like about 0.31lb per day roughly.

I’m scared to get on the scales.  I’ll start a 24 hour fast on Monday.  I not only ate too much, I drank too much last couple of days. I need a couple days to get over this hangover!  I won’t be going to the track today as planned.

I cooked some really good catfish and hush puppies yesterday!

Ok, I lost 7 lbs due to stress, then gained 1 due to stress (My daughter's in the hospital with major health issues), then lost 2 by purposefully cutting down calories.  So, I'm down 8 lbs and now at 164.4.

14.4 lbs to go.

Who’s idea was this…….trying to loose weight and get in shape for the track during holidays/family gathering’s, ball games and etc!

I’ve basically ran into a brick wall the last 2 weeks. First time since September having my 7 day average weight going up. Frustrating as it was like I could do no wrong for quite awhile. Family Christmas today. If I can keep out of the sweets, that’s my kryptonite. Once I start, there is no off switch

I've been off the bike for more than a year after a big crash. Racing was the main reason I needed to stay in shape and without a reason it's quite easy to let yourself go. While i was racing i was doing the workout in the article below. It can be completed in around half an hour and you need minimal equipment. For me an easy to svelte workout is essential, I cancelled my gym membership and did it at home.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday were this workout, Tuesday and Thursday I cycled for about 35 minutes. That had me at my best for racing out of any other workout I had tried throughout the years.

Counting calories in the food i was eating and tracking calorie burn with my smart watch really helped me get in shape.

Now that I'm recovered from my injuries I'm getting back into this workout again

Alright I’m going to jump in here also since I was already following the responses.

I jumped from 205-208 in the summer to 214 in November.  I have been doing indoor bicycle and rower using my Nordic track IFit equipment, and eating a little bit smaller portions.  I have dropped down to about 209 now after a few weeks of more consistent exercise.

I plan to get around 190-195 by my annual dr appointment in March.

I’m almost embarrassed to respond after starting this post.  Way too much holiday stuff.  Ate to much drank to much, but we had a lot of fun.  Everything I bragged about losing at the beginning of this thread I gained back and then some.  I’m scared to get on the scales, but I’m pushing 220. Trying to cut back on the groceries and get back on track.

It’s easy to screw up eat to much and drink to much.  Probably start a 24 hour fast on Friday.

I lost around 50 pounds between April of 2025 and today using the assault bike, better diet, and 16/8 fasting. I was woking out almost everyday for 3 years lifting weights with no diet or cardio. I got very strong but was not looking great and definitely not in riding shape. I was at the gym one day  and tried the assault bike and could only do it for 2-3 minutes before feeling like I was gonna pass out. After a month or so I could do 30 minutes and was losing a pound or 2 a week. I decided to stop lifting heavy weight and changed up my strength training to mostly body weight exercises 3-4 times a week and riding the assault bike 5 days a week. I started fasting and cut out most carbs, all sugars, alcohol, and went with smaller protein heavy meals twice a day. I bought a used assault bike for my house and now I have no excuses. I go to the gym and start each workout with 120 pushups, 100 body weight squats, 40 pull ups, and 40 dips. I do a lot of box jumps, burpees, rope swings, core work, and never use any weight heavier than a 60lb dumbbell. My cardio on the bike and 10 times better and im 20 lbs away from having abs at age 45. IMG 0129 2

I may have to change my workout plans.  I’m not getting any younger and heavy weight, hard workouts are taking toll in my elbow, shoulder and knee.  I ‘m thinking changing my routine to more line Motoxxx599 did.  What he did seems to work.

I need to ramp up my cardio too.

Cardio makes racing and riding so much safer and so much more fun.

Don't totally abandon strength training, even if you eliminate the heavy-weight days...
Strength gives you speed, balance, helps support your joints, and also offers some health benefits.

The Concept 2 rower is a great way to get some cardio, too.

I'm about to jump on mine and re-watch the 2025 Denver 450 SX main event.
Tomorrow is the end of the 450 SX rowing challenge that I do every year before A1.

Yep!! Exactly!

I’ve found that watching a supercross race or motocross race when I’m on the rower going hard, trying to hit my MAX HR, it helps a lot. More than music ever did. For some reason when I hear the engines and see the racing it just naturally turns something on in my brain where it’s almost like I’m imagining myself as tomac or sexton racing 🤣🤣. But anything helps

I do this - I'll watch Pala 2022 with Eli running and just from riding experience I can kind of guess where its a push and a maintain and I'll try to match. Southwick 2022 and red bud are also bangers to run during a row sesh. The stairmaster is also a top 3 cardio equipment. One level up or down is a big difference and it also brings a nasty leg pump. Try it and report back :D

I thought the Stairmaster was an easy workout meant for chicks.
Following a partial MCL tear near the end of my military service, I was told to warm up on one by the physical therapist.

The Stairmaster proved to be no joke!

Fasting is awesome!

However, if you're first starting out you should try intermittent first, which is basically cutting out one meal a day.

If you can get down to one meal a day, at least until you hit your target weight that will decrease the time it takes.

The carnivore diet was the key for me, because I could eat until I was full and had no hunger issues for up to 20 hrs.     Now that I'm at my target weight, monitor it every day, if I dip a few pounds below it, I'll eat a cheat meal or get some ice cream...ect.

To be successful, especially if you need to loose a lot of weight you need to set yourself up for success....here's some tips.

1. Clean out your fridge and cupboards of all junk, garbage, high carb foods and drinks.

1. Unless you have super willpower you need to get the family on board.

3. Get together a sustainable plan, one that's easy, easy to follow and maintain.

4. Your weigh loss plan and work out program...if you have one.... Should start out easy, taking small steps.            Most fail because they set unrealistic goals for themselves expecting to loose weight overnight.

Give yourself 6 months to a year to get to your target weight, everyone's metabolism is different and so some it takes longer.

5. Don't give up, if you blow your program by eating a bag of Doritos...don't quit....just put it behind you and restart.

Everyone has weak periods, I once sat down and ate almost a whole blueberry pie😁 but I continued on!

If you have a major sweet tooth that is super hard to ignore, shop at a health food store for your emergency junk food habit, at least there you can get low to zero sugar junk foods....just read the back panels not everything in there is good for weight loss.

6. Remember for weigh loss, carbs, sugars, even fruit sugars...and processed foods are the enemy.

Intermittent is what I do. I only eat twice a day. Light mid morning breakfast (Honey Nut Cheerios usually) and then a normal dinner around 5pm. Nothing between 5pm and around 10am the next day. I have lost 30 pounds and got to my target weight of 195. I'm 6' 1". I weigh every morning after I go to the bathroom. I think this is very important as you can see daily how your weight fluctuates and so it helps you stay on track.

It's been 7 months and I been able to keep it between 194 - 196. The only thing I have cut out is sugary sweets. I eat what ever I want for dinner. Now it's feels natural.

I put some respect on the booty ladies at the gym that can get on that thing for 30 minutes at speed 8. It’s not like running a 17 minute 5k but you can’t just “happen” into that it takes some commitment lol!

Booty Ladies - women who work out for the sole purpose of having a large rump.

“Dude I wanted to hop on the smith machine but there were like 4 booty girls all doing hip thrusts so I just went home.”

The more you know.

Dang, is that how you build the buttocks?? Since losing 75+ lbs last year, I've completely lost my ass...there's nothing left, like the money in my bank account. I need some booty ladies to show me how it's done.

I finally got the courage to get back on the scales this morning after trying to eat and drink myself to death over the holidays.  Before Christmas I was down to 212 from 220.  Was 218 this morning.  Put 6 pounds back on. Even thought I ate and drank too much I never stopped going to the gym over the holidays…….at least I did one thing right.

Went to the track on Wed and could barely get size 34 pants zipped up.  Time to set serious and loose 20 pounds or so.

Headed back to the gym in a couple of hours.  Gym I can do, food is my problem.  Other than holidays I eat the right food, I just eat to dang much of the right food lol!

Bet! I’ll try that for sure. I’ve actually never done the stair master before cuz I only saw the girls do it 😹.

I do rowing and cycling. I have a hard time pushing myself to my MAX HR but I’m gonna give that pala 22’ race on the stair Master a shot and report back.

Booty Ladies - women who work out for the sole purpose of having a large rump.

“Dude I wanted to hop on the smith machine but there were like 4 booty girls all doing hip thrusts so I just went home.”

The more you know.

Hey I’ve never heard anyone complaining of the booty ladies before.. 😉 usually just their douche boyfriends they bring.

Same here man. I can go to gym everyday no problem. But when it comes to eating I have a hard time with portion control. I just love stuffing my face. Beer too…

couple modelo’s and some carne asada on the weekend has become too common for me now.
