Giuseppe has retired. Heard rumors of this 2-3 months ago but never believed it.
Think there will be any meaningful changes coming
Whoa. I didn’t see that coming. The grass ain’t always greener on the other side… but hopefully this time it is.
Hasn't his son David been running things for a while?
That's what I thought as well
You're both right.

He’s been out of the game for a few years.
Yes
in true dictatorship fashion…it has been handed down to family…..but all is not lost….the US series thrives with world class riders due to the greed and exploitation of the riders….
One might even assert that it is becoming a farm/feeder system to US series.
Follow the money... apparently, that's what the riders do.
His son has been running it for a few years and it’s the same crap.
You wouldn't want to make a few more million dollars a year?
Before I assume anything, are you interpreting my remark as a criticism of the riders?
They live the highlife in Monte Carlo, at the expense of the sport. David is a chip off the old block. Moto is not his thing, it's the take that is of interest. Check out who is David Luongo... you'll see. His background is European Soccer. Money game. They're interest is themselves only.
Let me introduce you to the Feld family…
I read the same thing the son doesn't even like moto like that and apparently many in the paddock don't like him. He was groomed /pushed into that position and rightfully so the money is damn good. While the non factory riders make peanuts the loungos cruising around on a yacht. Until the teams/riders unite and demand prize money and whatever else they need nothing will change, the crooks are laughing all the way to the bank. To add jorge prado said when he won the championship he got zero money from infront thats just absurd that you get nothing for winning the title.WTF?
Same as it ever was
Same as it ever. Was.
Your last sentence- will never happen in a million years.
Seems like most sports these days are filled with self serving grifters at the top.
Any of you read about the FIA head in F1 ? The Liberty group? That fucking fantino piece of shit at FIFA? The history of the I.O.C ? The EPL ?
I could go on - all those fuckers care about is thier ego & bank account .
That’s not a boat…… check into what Dennis Washington owns for boats.his personal ones ,not the container shipping line

This muther fucker is my boss.owns the company I work for.
I was trying to reply to OP and say what you just said but some wacky stuff was happening. I would think mxgp will be running the same way it has been the past few years, in the future as long as David is there.
Pit Row
Yes, davids been the "ceo" since 2019 but ive always heard alot of things still pass through Giuseppe, obviously with it being his son. Just wondering if now that hes officially out to pasture and not planning on being available for the day to day with David maybe he will get bored and move on sooner rather than later.
It's a shame that I perceive the GP series as basically exhibition races where the Luongo's enrich themselves by taking foreign government money while rider pay is abysmal. I will say the GP riders are freaking badasses who deserve better.
We all remember this interaction between Luongo and Ben Townley when Ben spoke his mind on a couple of tracks. Luongo gave him an expletive laced tongue lashing and Ben apologized with his tail between his legs...knowing the power Giussepe has. https://racerxonline.com/2016/03/05/townley-loungo-fire-shots-at-each-other

edit to say: Looks like old sandberm made more then a few posts in that thread....sigh...talk about cognitive decline 🤕
The best part is forgetting you're experiencing it! 😁
Unfortunately nothing will change...
We all want the Luongos to make a profit however there has to be some re-investment into the sport. This is what’s infuriating. They’re allowing 20rider gates because they refuse to pay prize money meaning only factory riders turn up half the time. For a small cut of the profit they could offer decent prize money, cut race fees and have 60+ guys trying to qualify for mxgp and opening the door to have some potential cool stories of guys making a name for themselves from nothing
The OEMS.
I don't think the OEMs care about privateers or rider salary. But i do think they care about how much money they have to put in to fund the factory team and also care about what brand exposure they get in return (with abysmall attendance figures at many rounds and limited tv coverage). There is a reason no factory team has a good sponsor except for energy drink or the personal money from wealthy guys like Vosters.
When KTM had factory teams with KTM, HQV and GasGas they would have had the power to do something. Especially if they would have gotten one of the Japanese brands on board.
It's the Chinese that owns Infront, not Luongos.
Chinese Damian -> Swiss Infront -> Infront Moto
This isn't a family business, it's corporate business.
Excuse my ignorance, but isn’t WSX paying out a ton of prize money?
I dont think so. I cant find the payouts for this year, but im pretty sure they aren't doing the $250k per race payouts any longer. Especially after hearing Savatgy in the latest Pulp, it didnt sound like they were getting much in the way of prize money.
Post a reply to: The dictator of mxgp is gone.
