Torn thumb ligament. He tried to ride but was in too much pain.
Not so fast captain
Great racing, championship down to the wire.
Need a British commentator to replace Ralph. A fully American commentary team makes it feel like low rent SMX, a British broadcast lead will bring the world atmosphere this needs.
Also the broadcast is really dark, open up that aperture boys and girls.

That was the worst track I’ve seen in sometime. Dirt Wurx boys truly are magicians.
I was actually wondering the same thing myself, haha
It looked Seattle but built with less dirt. After the jumps wore down they were just about wheelying through the one rhythm section like they were Daytona rollers.
I thought Tommy and Daniel worked well together. Cut Ralph, make Blair the Play by play and Tommy the analyst. Everyone wins, but Ralph I guess.
I'm the first one to complain about the always supper-ruted american supercross track. But if they have only one track on the calendar that is like this and the rest are all different, I don't think it's that bad. It gives a unique character to the track of each country they race in. kind of like we see with outdoor tracks. Also, I think the format makes for interesting races. If a guy pulls away, he is alone in front only for 4-5 laps instead the 15 minutes we sometimes see in the US format.
But it still had me wondering. Could they just not wait for a moment that the dirt is dry where they store it and then cover it with tarps to keep it fresh for next year's racing? Or does it simply never gets dry?

I think Mr. Anderson chose Mr. Rock Zenns bike and liked it.
Yep...sometime after I posted it he snuck one in. Only did it once that I heard though.
Nice seeing Anderson and Savatgy racing for wins. They were never my favorite riders, but I do like seeing guys have longer careers and not getting tossed to the side completely at their stages.
"El Hombre! El Winner!"
Nailed it, Ralph...
Yes, I'll be there with the usual crew.
Im sure the dirt was never stored… and most likely wont ever be. Maybe it will get stored if Stockholm is going to get a ”permanent” wsx round (and somebody gives them a hint about storing it).
Better mix some clay in it then?
Indeed track was unique for this year's WSX, gnarly but it's good to see riders need to adapt to different track and dirt at each round.
Seems it was a well attended round for a last-minute replacement announced 8 weeks ago.
First WSX podium for an electric bike, Hicks got a great race 4/3/4 for 4th OA. Hicks is a class rider, Stark must hang real tight to him cause he's making them look so good. It's still a disaster for Friese and Zaragoza in SX1.
Pit Row
Not saying the dirt was stored, but Anderson said he did a Swedish SX a few years back and it was the same type of dirt. I liked it for something different and it certainly challenged the riders and teams.
Just like last week, one track like that per season is a good thing imo.

Hicks fastest lap in race 1 is something: well over 1s faster than anybody else in that race.
Anecdotally that's also the 3rd fastest lap of the day in any session (Anderson and Savatgy each had one lap faster than this in SX1 3rd race).
Of course gnarly rutted track, conditions changed every lap, still impressive.
The dirt was not stored.
The problem here is that it’s early winter and close to freezing. And in the fall it’s constant rain.
When this race was put together last minute it was already fall and all the dirt you can get your hands on will be wet.
No swedish fan was impressed over what we just witnessed as the track goes, and sometimes it’s better to just say no if you can’t build a good racetrack.
Not blaiming the organisation.
I know it was a last minute deal and i think it was not superterrible (as a spectator 😅). Just get some clay in that gravel-ish dirt!
About the statement of one round of ”difficult loose gravel-dirt” challenging the riders, im all in, just not happy it will be Sweden all the time! (Wildcard) riders will avoid coming here… if Stockholm is ever getting a WSX event again?
I still think there was nothing wrong with the track. Cookie cutter tracks get boring, good to mix it up.
Im fairly sure that it was clay that they mixed in sand and gravel to so they could make it dryer and be able to work with.
99% of the terrain and natural tracks around Stockholm is rock hard clay that get blue grooved during the summer, so I expect that the clay they used last night is the same.
Another problem is that I don’t know when they were allowed to start building the track but it’s obvious it was to late so the dirt never got a chance to settle or dry.
I can accept that a track turn out to be like this in a open stadium if it rains, but in a closed stadium we need to do better from the start.
I also like that some series can face different types of material, like the German SMX race that was held 10? Years ago when they used sand indoors. I could see something like that get implemented in the current three SMX races to brake the mold they are starting to fall in to now.
Dirt last night looked like it came from a winter-road-sanding depot… ☺️ max 10% clay…
As a Sthlm resident im just sad that possible future Sweden SX events will be known as a dont-go-there event because of the always crappy soil.
Im sure for example Craig will think twice… not that i really care…
That's a load....everyone has to race the same conditions. No different than a rainy event or a mud race, or sandy soil. If they want to cry about the conditions they shouldn't be offered the opportunity to race
I agree good to see something a bit different!
I thought the track was fine, sure I can find something to critique but perfection is a goal, not an achievement.
