I had one of the most simple and economical LL I've ever had this year. And ironically it's the only time I've ever actually gotten in the program and raced! Showed up on Sunday evening and pulled into a little spot off the road up on stagecoach hill and setup a canopy. Love rouge riverbar/sandpit moto tracks. We’ve got no public tracks in my county and when my place gets too wet to ride in the winter I sneak my skiddy down to our local riverbar and groom up our sand track, it’s honestly one of my favorite tracks in California!

Riding wise I went to riding class with David Bailey at Carlsbad. Tons of good information all day long. The ones that stuck in my mind were Don't stare at the gate until the last few seconds, when the starters running towards the dog house or the card goes sideways. He said you can only "Super concentrate" for a few seconds, if you stare at the gate too soon your mind will wander. Treat every straight like the start straight, every lap. No cruising or resting, keep the intensity high. When you're practicing pick a corner and keep going faster...

This is amazing weather for this time of year. From the lobby in my office you can almost see into the stadium.

Georges Jobe jumping over Andre Malherbe at the 1984 500cc Grand Prix at Hawkstone Park. I was commissioned to paint this iconic image and owner Alan Bott decided to give it to Georges. We travelled to Belgium to present it as Georges was diagnosed with Leukaemia and took the painting to hospital to give himself strength.

Finishing on the podium in the 2020 World Vet Team Cup race and spraying champagne with the likes of Doug Dubach, Mike Brown and Sean Lipanovich. Nothing in moto will ever top that for me. My two Polish homies and I managed to put Poland on the box that year (and yeah, all three of us were actually born in Poland). I think that moment gives me more joy and pride than any other athletic, academic or professional achievement.
