It will be magical for the Aussies, Brits and wherever you're from if he doesn't perform. It will be the opposite of magical for the Aussies, Brits and wherever you're from if he beats Lergenfielder and De Wolf with a broken wing. Either way, I'll be doing something else the Monday after the race. lol

Doucheboy will have a target on his back. We're better off with a healthy JCoop.

I just cannot see how the decision isn't made...  We just haven't been told what the plan is.  It's the only plausible explanation.

It's JCoop, right?

For real. JCoop needs to shaking down a 250, like yesterday. They going to wait until Friday/ Saturday to make the call to JCoop? If I was him I'd say pound sand

Sounds like they are waiting for Haiden to say yes or no

I don't want that douchebag on my team. Let him think for the entire off-season about his douchebaggery.

JCoop will represent us well. He's already won this for us.

Absolutely wrong of AMA to string jcoop along like this. The moment Deegan walked off the track with the broken collar bone it should have no longer been his decision.

According to Lewis, RJ was already preparing before Vegas, so make of that what you will. Maybe just as alternate?

My assumption is deegz was waiting to hear about sexton, now that sexton's out Im guessing he will back out too. Who knows though... Hopefully we find out soon

That would be consistent with past years.

Feel like RJ is trying to tell us he's the one who will get screwed if Deegan is in....

Which would be disappointing.. No disrespect to jcoop, love that he's always in for team USA  but I would like to see RJ get the chance to step up with how solid he been since getting on the 450

Hampshire's step up to 450s has been impressive. Not arguing that.

But JCoop beat him outdoors in the points and had 3 O/A podiums to RJ's 1. JC is clearly the pick

I’d say the odds of Team USA being all Star Yamahas is very high at this point.

Certainly a fair point; if you average out the last 10 MX overalls its very close JC:4.7, RJ: 5.1. I just have a little more faith in RJ working through the pack if needed but JCoop has always shown up for MXON though... so you probably are right

But Cooper doesn't have to work through the pack, because he is one of the most consistent starters out there.

RJ's single overall podium was at Ironman, though, so that's something to take into consideration.

Honestly, if Deegan is hour by hour like Matthes said, then the AMA needs to sack up, make the decision for him and quite stringing JCoop along.

And in one of the interviews at Vegas, he said that he had a des Nations bike prepped and ready to go already.  And that he absolutely wanted to go.

A hero ride at the MXdN will certainly earn back some goodwill

No it won't we still hate him.

No dispute on the results and I like both guys, but a bit of subjective opinion here, I’d suggest Rick’s recent form has been a little better than JCoop’s.  But they are really close.  Rick will pass guys and JCoop will start in front of guys.

Now, think about this,  if Rick gets a start he’s going to be great.  If JCoop doesn’t get a start, he finishes a ways back…

Ultimately, I hope they are BOTH on the team.  😉

Completely off topic here, but when did we start referring to all riders by their initials (RC, JS, RV, etc.) except the one guy who actually goes by his initials as his name?

Well, I bought Rick’s MXoN shirt in ‘23 and it says Rick on it, not RJ.

So for me, he’s RJ all year long and Rick if it’s in a discussion regarding MXoN.  🤣

With over a week to recover I bet Deegan will still ride if they let him. I would assume the hold up is more about the powers that be deciding if he should represent the USA more than it is him deciding if he wants to. I think he wants to, but the fallout from his antics is bigger than most know behind the scenes.
