Did I hear that correctly on the broadcast that Barcia said he was calling it quits?  Thought there were rumors he was signing with Ducati.  Guess not.

And I was looking forward to a little friendly "rubbins racin" with him and Deeg's next year. lol

I swear it would be a bigger deal if he was, but I haven’t heard a single mention of that. Hope to not be true, but I said the same thing when Tom V signed with Honda

He has said this jokingly in interviews because contract supposedly not signed but everyone reporting him to Ducati is done deal.

I thought Bam’s knees were about done and this was his last full season.   I may have dreamed it but thought he needed a knee or two replacement.

Don’t remember him saying that he was quitting/retiring. They talked about it being his last ride on the GasGas.

The broadcast made it feel that way, I even hit rewind to make sure, but they were talking about GasGas- he will be on the Ducati next season

He's the oldest guy out there right? Kyle Chilsom is older. Maybe Ducati will be part time

I still remember the first moto of his career well. Glen Helen '09. Got to the front almost immediately and lead a good 15-20min before fading. Watching these guys careers from start to finish makes you feel old as fuck lol

He’s riding for HEP for WSX. They’re trying to get him for 2026 as well.

For OP, no Barcia is not retiring. Him and Ferrandis will be on Ducati next year.

Please Barcia don't retire before racing a full season against Deegan. Could you also bring Vince along now that he is riding a silent Scud missile.

Barcia was saying it was his last race with the Gasgas team.  Not saying it was his last race.

Can someone get Barcia tighter pants for 2026? That's the only way he's going to get back to podium level.

He went to GasGas because they are/were a trials company, so they are known for tight pants.

However, Italians have a long storied history of wearing tight pants (capris) so it might be a good fit* with Ducati.  However, Italians also don't wear socks, so it's kind of gross.  Hopefully they can come to terms and button up a deal soon.

 (*pun intended)

A Bam Bam and Deegs moment would be epic.

In Italy of course

I honestly hope this happens. I'm not a fan of take outs (Osborne on Savatgy is an exception since it was for the title) but it would be so fun to have Bam Bam show the kid how it's really done.

That explains the confusion. It isn't that he's going to retire, he just need to re-attire.

If Barcia does get a Ducati ride, he’ll no doubt put the desmosonic or whatever they are called valves against the limiter !

Watching these guys' careers from start to finish doesn't make me feel old – knowing I used to watch 34 year old Christian Craig's dad race mini bikes makes me feel old...
