The American beast, one of the few that can take it to the 'L Bros', shame, shame, shame.

Didn't they just win a Supercross title with Webb?

I don’t think yamaha is, but i dang sure am. My favorite Eli era, the one i’ll always remember, is the yamaha era. Never in a million years would i have thought he is no longer a monster shorter and rides and orange bike. I’m not going to accept that eli left yamaha until i have to because it’s just going to be so dang weird. I wish him the best of luck. I honestly might cry every race he’s in at nations because he’s leaving yamaha. I’ve cried thinking about it before.

ET3 is by far my favorite rider of this era. Having said that, I can see Yamaha’s predicament, not knowing when he would pull the plug on his career.  The team had to make a tough decision, and they did. No shame in doing what is best for the team. I am worried about KTM being able to figure out their suspension issues. Eli does not suffer suspension problems very well.

Power, and boingers are going to be an issue.  Fading shocks, etc.  Going to be interesting

KTM has never had a problem making power. Those Austrians are crazy

Most durable clutch design in the game, too. But Eli will have to get comfy with his starts on the hydraulic.

They have a very smooth power delivery according to many riders.  It is a linear broad power where Eli likes a heavy hit and quick spool. I am. not saying they can't make HP, it is the delivery I am interested in.  Also the clutch, he is back on hydro

Tomac won races and a championship on a Honda, Tomac won races and multiple championships on a Kawasaki, Tomac wons races, mutliple championships, and MXoN on a Yamana

Whatever MFC he signs with for 2026 . . . doubt he is worried.

Back on topic of this thread - I am very surprised Yamaha is letting him go.

Nope, first time I called in was when Tommy Tenders was on and asked him about raising canes or chick fil a or something like that. I’ve called in recently, and steve called me bro even though I met steve at the PC live show a few months ago. I also met mitch, bones, RV, the keefers and a now friend from main event moto who’s a big eli fan.

Time marches on.  Been a minute since Eli took it to the L bros.  I’d say that like it or not, Deegan has a better chance of taking it to the L bros moving forward, and I’m a much bigger fan of 3 than 38.

I’m cool with it being over. As a foaming mouth eli superfan, it seems to me that in order to win he needs a shakeup. A change of scenery may be literal 1% he needs to put a #1 plate on the bike next season.

Delivery is a mapping question, I don't see that as an issue. If anything he may struggle with the chromoly frame and WP suspension, but they'll make that engine bark if he asks for it. Hell, knowing KTM, they're probably already working on it.

you guys think ET3 shocks us all and just hangs it up?? To go through all the trouble to switch teams, figure out a new bike, etc etc...when he KNOWS he doesn't quite have the speed for JL....I could totally see us just getting a PR wishing him well in his retirement and calling it a day.

It is much more than mapping, either way.  Time will tell how it all plays out.  Just for fun, who do you know at KTM?

I hope not, but I remember Canard switching to KTM late in his career and then retiring mid-year. Canard is different IMO because of the chronic repeat injuries. It's been a bit since Eli's achilles injury and he looks motivated. I'm optimistic we'll see the beast again.

Why would Yamaha be upset? Tomac is fast but father time is catching up to him. They are choosing to move forward. I hope Tomac can win another SX. Championship but the only way he does is if Jett, Hunter, Webb and Chase get hurt.

At least they have a universally loved, likable young man, poised to represent them for years to come.

Somehow I think Yamaha will survive without him.

Being handcuffed to Webb making it unfeasible to sign Eli is wild to me. I like Webb but Eli was faster before he got hurt and was the only person to somewhat hang with the brothers in SMX Circus-offs (playoffs). He's a podium guy and the most likeable and loved rider in the sport (US) right now. IMO, that's someone that sells bikes.

I will be rooting on KTM next year.

Out of all the guys switching teams, Eli has been the most professional in handling it with dignity and grace.

If the shock problems continue, I’d be surprised if Eli doesn’t hang it up

I'm sure most do... but the tomacs realllly seem like they put in the due diligence when it comes to the motorcycle.   If there's an issue,  they've asked about it, and what the team plans on doing to fix it.

I thought I read rumors that some of the KTM guys in USA were running KYB over the past year or two -

Wonder if ET3 would have required some option like this in the contract if he is signed with KTM for 26/27?

Are the MXGP Austrian bikes having shock problems the last few years? Seems like KTM has lots of data and setup options. AP likes his bike over here. Chase’s bike has looked exceptional on many of the tracks. Not like ET will be starting from scratch. Can’t wait to see him with all the power. WSX rounds are coming up quick.

They have Jcoop, the corolla of motocross. Very low buy-in with a ton of ROI. They'll be fine. Their 250 squad is in shambles though.
