Deegan should have been black flagged, simple as that. A terrible display of a lack of maturity and sportsmanship. Yamaha should have something to say about it too.

It seems like you guys can not see how it really was. Maybe if you let your feeling out of it you Will see. Deegan tried to get shimoda to make a mistake by running it on him. Je had multiples opportunity to do what Osborne did to savatgy but he did not. He was still holding back. And when they crashed he did it in a slow section to not make shimoda crash hard.

What do you call friese and barcia’s racing moves? I’m curious.

Do you really not know the difference between legitimately racing for position and slowing down multiple times to take shots at taking someone down or breaking...

Well you just proved my point. I think it’s funny you are putting your guy in the same boat as Friese though.

If you cannot  see the difference  between  those two situations,  then we cannot  have a conversation.

He’s not even my guy. I like all the racers, but I just think it’s ridiculous how many grown men wish death and injury on someone for racing for the win.

I will be in the minority but this is exactly what they wanted by creating SMX. Put so much money on the table that rider turn it into demolition derby on bikes. While many of these guys make a solid living many are only around for a few years and when 1 position in the final standing is 50-100K This is what you will get and to the casual fan it is awesome TV.

This is what they asked for, So this is what they got

every time I think I have seen the dumbest possible defense of Haiden, another fan of his comes out the woodwork to outdo it.

When he goes down multiple times, passes the leader multiple times, to have the ability and confidence to do that, I think we all know who the king is out there. Jo Shimoda is a G, but Deegan is on another world.

This is Deegs growing the sport 🤦‍♂️

I guess missed the “wishing Death or Injury” part.

Although Deegan showed no qualms about risking that for Jo or Ryder.

Deegan is a racer it’s as simple as that. In a post-race interview, Jo said he understood why Deegan rode the way he did and didn’t have a problem with it. So why do you?

Deegan was going for a title and it bit him in the ass. Jo didn’t have a problem with it and neither do I. What I do find troubling is the responses to Haiden’s injury. Being glad that someone is injured and/or wishing they were hurt worse is a disgusting attitude and is reflection not of Haiden Deegan, but of the person saying it.

After reading comments on this message board and social media, I would say Haiden isn’t the only one that needs to grow up.

Nice post…💯👍🏻

Deegan FAFO’d. That’s all there is to it.

Yup, he went for it…$500,000…and the one competitor of any significance in that pursuit said…it was “Sketchy but Fair”…

I’m intrigued by how angry and emotional everyone in fandom is versus Jo, himself.

No worries. Deegan paid the price…indeed…”He Found Out”.

This takes me back to the ol’ days when guys would run you off the track for $500 Friday Night Money in the ‘80s 🤣

Deegan displayed very poor sportsmanship.  95% of us agree with that but let’s move on to the fundamental problem.

I see a pathetic failure in leadership.  The AMA should have black flagged Deegan and given a one race ban starting at the first round of SX.  Problem solved.

Additionally, the media in general has pathetically failed.  Hopper and Cooksey praised Deegan.  Racer X covered it like it was a “block pass” that Deegan did to get to the front.  In the booth during the race the announcers glossed over what was going on.

This is like a kid misbehaving in school yet the parents and principal won’t be proactive in discipline.  I don’t always blame the kid in that situation.  I blame the leadership first.

Shame on you AMA, Feld, Racer X, Hopper, Cooksey, announcers and other media outlets.  This wasn’t a good look for our sport at all.  You really fucked up in how you responded.

Real winners go out and win when they need to and don’t resort to bush league nonsense to win titles.

Oh, and I thought no better of Reed’s bullshit on JS7 in Vegas when it happened.

If I had a choice between Deegan or Shimoda representing my brand, I’d take Shimoda and his respectful family all day long over the Deegan trailer trash clown show.

Instead of sitting back and enjoying the sport, you have a once in a lifetime talent kid piss you off because he’s that good. Love it.

How can Haiden be a once in a lifetime talent when we have Jett? Reality check next year buddy. That once in a lifetime talent is just going to be a podium guy

Anyone defending Deegan or bringing up other riders who ride dirty are either fooling themselves or have their head buried deep in the Southwick sand.

One doesn’t need to defend Deegan since a quick look at the history of the sport makes a good case that rubbing is racing.  Bob Hannah and Kent Howerton, Larry Ward and Chicken at Seattle in 1990, Damon Bradshaw and a list of riders, Chad Reed at the 2009 Las Vegas finale against Stewart, Zach Osborne on Savagty, Canard taking out RV for a title.

Every single one of them were as dirty or much more dirty than what Deegan did. Jo seems to understand that.

Just last week Levi Kitchen took out Deegan and was a hero. This week, Deegan goes for a title, people are glad he’s injured, and yet in all annuals of the sports history, Deegan is a pos for going for a title and riding dirty?

Not buying it. Deegan went for it, and paid the price with a broken collarbone. He now gets to eat crow for all his big talk. It will be a good thing because he’ll hopefully grow up a little from it.  But I think the issue here isn’t so much how Deegan rode as how a bunch of grown men feel about Haiden.  So really, as I previously said, the hideous attitude of being glad someone was hurt or wishing they were injured more, isn’t a reflection of Haiden or his actions and on or off the track. It’s a reflection of the person themselves. As mentioned, Jo didn’t have an issue with it. Just the keyboard cowboys who can’t temper their emotions.

I’ve read enough comments to make me embarrassed to be a fan of the sport, and I certainly won’t align myself with the fans who take joy in a rider being injured.  That’s my 2 cents, and is all I’ll say on it any further.

I hope you are a man of your word................

I actually think very highly of Haiden's talent and drive. I will make a comment like that and Deegan fan's will call me a hater. But I'm very complimentary of him as a racer. I'm just a realist. Jett is a freak alien like we've never seen before.

Jo was unharmed. If he did get hurt , I’d still say the same thing. I’m not condoning Deegans riding. Although we’ve see it before from several big names over the years. It was a bad look. Still I do not believe Danger was trying to hurt Jo.

As good as Jett is, he’s not growing the sport. Haiden has rare charisma along with insane speed. He has the biggest following for a reason. His fans love him, and his haters are even more obsessed with him than his fans. Jett’s time of romping old dudes in a worn out 450 class is winding down.

LMFAO, nice cast.

I fully expect Deegan to be on the podium quickly outdoors though. The battle with Hunter should be good.

I wont agree with you he has an insanely passionate fanbase. 1000%. Deegan charismatic, though? He's very awkward in his podium interviews. I give two shits about that though. He's a badass on the track, thats all I care about. I just dont see him having what it takes to compete with Jett. Jett's beating up a worn out 450 class? Deegan's main competition is Jo Shimoda, who's in his 6th year in the 250 class. Hey if I'm wrong, then great! We'll have a great rivalry for the better part of the next decade. I see it being pretty one sided, especially when Haiden is nowhere near the sx rider Jett is
