Anyone who was around for his dad’s trailer trash freestyle road circus shouldn’t be surprised that his son turned out the way he did.

Yeah he actually did just this season with beaumer… and no not with a 450 champ, to do this he needs to step it up.

At the end it’s like father like son, Brian was a douche his whole career. And the plastic Barbie mom is a bit embarrassing also…. Fake family at its best

“People do not follow titles, they follow courage, integrity, and character.” - Unknown author.

Jo Shimoda has courage, integrity, and character.

Haiden Deegan may have courage (he can ride a bike very well) but he is missing everything else.

I’m afraid Daddy boy Deegan acted just as he was raised to act.

You don’t know that.

What RJ did to Hammaker in salt lake was worse than anything Haiden did last night but okay…. + the games the ktm riders were playing with him that night.

You guys just have short term memory loss or?????????????

I don't normally join these conversations but I've been watching every single race since the early 90s as a young lad. I am not a Deegan fan when it comes to the hype and the personality however we can't fault him for doing everything he had to do in his power, especially after last week (which likely only emboldened him).

That said, huge fan of Shimoda and his professionalism, humility, text book talent etc. Well done Jo!

It was for money. The SMX title is meaningless outside of the payday. Jo still has a big goose egg as far as real titles go.

How was Zacho vs Savatgy way worse? That was one shot Zack took. He didnt follow Joey all over track non-stop trying to park him

It looked worse as a takeout.

I hope you all don’t practice law.

Well he lost $150,000 with his stunt in the end by ending up in 4th place and not 2nd. I guess you’re supposed to gamble when you’re in Las Vegas afterall…

No it was because of his ego. If it was for the money he would have taken the 250K, stayed healthy, gone to MXoN to put a stamp on he’s the fastest 250 rider in the world.

Is he the first multi time champion to never make an appearance at MXoN?

If he had gone for the win he would have won $50k for the playoff win and $250k for 2nd in points. After being docked 5 points for his riding he ended in 5th in points and won $50k, costing him $250k plus any team/sponsor bonus he might have had.

Is this where we see the Deeganites flip their script on wether the smx crown is a real title?

Parenting is mostly modeling behavior. Kids do as you do, not what you say.

I’m not surprised by any of what I saw Saturday night.

As JT noted, even if he knocks Jo down and wins, it’s highly unlikely Deegan wins the title, especially since the AMA warned him. He just let his emotions get the best of him and said, if I can’t win, my main competitor isn’t going to win.

A real racer goes out and wins by as much as possible and leaves with everyone knowing who the best rider is. Deegan did not do that.

Ever heard of Eli Tomac?

Care to point to me a time when he chased a competitor around the track trying to take him out multiple times in a dangerous way?  Riding in a way that could injure other riders?  Possibly trying to deliberately injure them?

The bunching was greasy, sure. But not dangerous. Deegan was dangerous.
