What is the USA MXoN plan B team???

MXoN is a game like no other with Roger Decoster knowing the game and how to play it for all those winning years.

All 3 of the riders need to be a team players scoring points for the team not just focused to win their class at all costs. Consistency and determination is what wins the overall at the end.

Tomac is still a really really strong team leader but with Deegan and Sexton out who will be the next to step up on a 250 and 450 and which team will step up and support the riders. Star and Pro Circuit have shown it in the past.

250 is always a tough one and needs a mentally strong racer with a lot of fight to charge through the pack like they always have to do.

Marchbanks has been strong and did well at the Ironman National so he is the best one  IMO

450 both Plessenger and Mookie are at the top of my list but unfortunately I think they are both busted up.

Cooper Webb has the experience and is a brutal fighter when he needs to which is a huge plus

Both Justin Cooper and RJ Hampshire are serious contenders showing speed endurance and fight at the end when its needed the most.

IMO put Justin Cooper on a 250 and keep RJ on that 450. That’s our best shot

As I said in another thread, Jeremy Martin. Nobody would put all of his heart and soul, into one last ride for 'Merica!

And I hear he is still fast...

Pretty sure this is what's happening, during Lewis's interviews they both said they'd been talked to about it already

AP and Mookie? Why?

This had already been talked about in multiple threads.

It’s a bad idea that won’t even be brought up in any serious conversation, He hasn’t been riding. When you have jcoop and RJ available, it would be crazy to ask jmart. I do love jmart though.

God no. He went out a winner in a crazy one off ride. We dont need that ruined by him getting decimated by the GP guys

This is the most likely team.

Tomac MX1, Cooper MX2, and Hampshire Open

If Hammaker wasn't hurt, I could see him potentially going. But I don't really feel comfortable with anyone above JCoop. I wish Kitchen was riding well, then he would be one to consider. But he just hasn't ridden like himself lately. I think it has to be JCoop. And I think he will do just fine.

Would guess JCoop is the fastest Star has available, would be very hard to replace the team at this point

The fact that Justin has been full time 450 longer than RJ suggests to me that he should be the Open pick. Not only did Coop score more SMX points than anyone, he also has MXoN experience. Put the MXoN rookie on the 250.

At the 2024 Ironman national, Coop went 6-4 for 5th overall in 450, but RJ got 3rd on 4-3 scores.

Webb stepped up last year and raced a 250 overseas when no one else wanted to. I say give the nod to him now that it’s here in the states and let him rip a 250 again!

Justin always has the starts though which can be huge for the mx2 score

I said that and got downvoted into oblivion.  Eli, JCoop, and Webb.  Arguably the three best American riders still standing after the season.  Why would we want anyone else?  Webb isn't the greatest outdoors, but I'd take him over RJ.

Take Webb over RJ? You watched mx this summer right?

This is what I've been thinking...  Have to find a Star 250 and "KTM" 450. I was thinking Cooper Webb and AP if he could possibly go.  Otherwise, J Coop and RJ are the best choices.

Someone needs to make a video of J-Mart driving a tractor around Millville prepping the track for a local race…taking a call…while on the tractor…then, hands the tractor off to Alex…goes to the barn…gears up and starts practicing…in red white and blue livery with “5” on it.

I’m jus’ sayin’…🇺🇸

RJ represented the USA in 2023 at MXDN.

RJ was consistently faster that JCoop outdoors near the end of the season. RJ also beat Eli at Ironman in 2025.

He can go as the back-up rider, but in the great outdoors they have him covered.

Actually I did too. I was looking at MXDN results this morning and found Hampshire listed. But to your point, I think Jcoop or Hampshire would be good candidates.

Random dumb question, Can a non-USA born, current US citizen race for Team USA? Are there any restrictions on that?

Asking because in the Olympics, you are aloud to compete for a country you are a citizen of, but don't have to be born in said country.
