Go watch MX2 Finale and compare Kay De Wolfs actions to Deegan’s. Not saying Deegan’s were good, but at least slow speed fuckery.
KdW took out Simon Längenfelder at speed after multiple attempts in M1. But in M2 karma struck and KdW bike gave up handing the championship to  Längenfelder. By comparison Deegan is a poorly executed clown show and KdW is an assassination but somehow I still like KdW. Maybe for the same reason I like Barcia who has more takeouts than premier class wins. Deegan’s trash talk gives him very room to ride like he did. But it did bring out the best in Jo, so at least there is that.

Bit of a stretch comparing the two in my opinion. Kay was racing forward for the championship - not an assassination.
Deegan was racing backwards for the takeout - assassination.

Yep and the FIM should penalize him heavily for it.

I cant believe he wrecked himself out of the MXdN. And Chase probably out, too. You know who should be pissed? Eli. US winning could have been the capper on a HOF career. We could still win without Chase. We needed Deegz though. Ridiculous

Yesterday I was watching YouTube and his mechanic was on the AC and JB show and they asked him about Deegan doing this and he said no he’ll just be going to go for the win and let the chips fall where they may in the championship.

I was thinking to myself, no way. I knew he’d try and take him out, but only once not this debacle🤣

It's a tough call for AMA to make but they should have black flagged him. I'm not sure exactly where that line is but I'm sure Deegan crossed it and then some. He was clearly no longer trying to race his race. Kinda happy the way it ended.

And RC needs to go. This is the crap racing you get when you say "anything goes for a championship ".

Bingo!!

The black flag needs to be used in these situations. Ignoring the obvious rules is horrible.

Use that black flag once and this behavior would stop immediately.

What if very popular Shimoda have gotten seriously injured? Same for Savatgy years ago, Davies, or anybody else who has been a victim from AMA endorsed dirty riding. Our sport is dangerous enough.

It was a serious bonehead move,  that came with instant karma.  The proper thing to do would have been race hard. get the wins and let the chips fall where they may.  A tad bit of gamesmanship would have been fine, ala tomac 2017.  Nobody would have held that kind of thing against him.

Now Star (and Yamaha) need to sit him down and have some real conversations about tact, and making good choices.

Should have been black flagged. Instead,  karma sad, "I got this."

I’m surprised by the amount of surprise everyone is showing. I’ve said it in the past, it’s a family trait. The entire Deegan family are idiots!

That kid is definitely far from smart. What an !diot. When was race officials going to black flag him before he hurt Shimoda or anyone else? Is that the image of the sport they wanted to show? an angry immature child not wanting to race but trying to take his opponent down in the most snowflake way?

What. poor display of sportsmanship and a poor image for the sport. Karma's a b!tch. So stupid, so infantile. and the idiot took himself out of the MXDN team with that?!

That was pretty painful to watch. Welcome to the WWE moto era 😔

There is no fault. Racing incident. Blame is when you fuck with people and break your collarbone.

Man, I like watching Deegan use the natural talent he has, and the work he's put in, to absolutely ride the shit out of a bike, he is amazing to watch when he's actually concentrating on going fast...

Anyone who has raced or competed honestly and with integrity, on any level at all from low to pro, knows how utterly pathetic this was though 🤦

Seeing someone put so much effort into repeatedly going so far out of your way to let someone go by time and again so you can try and smash them, is the lamest shit I've seen in a looong time and that includes him cheating at Loretta's from 50's to 250's and the final years protest debacle, cleaning out his teammates in a heat race, cleaning out anyone who he's worried is gonna beat him fair and square, crying when someone does it to him, clearly using church going and Christianity for publicity's sake and financial gain (seems to be worryingly common now) while showing a clear lack of morals, humility, truthfulness, etc, time and again... Yeah, no.

And anyone who thinks this is an aggression/riding hard issue, you're retarded, it's a simple spirit of competition and basic values issue. And people saying 200k is a lot of money, yeah it is to you and me... It's fuck all to Deegan

Kitchen is the villain.

Had Kitchen not crossed 2 or 3 ruts to take out Deegan, Jo wouldn't have been 10 points ahead going into the final.  It's not Jo's fault, and he admits that he was gifted the 10 point advantage.  It wasn't a racing incident, and yes, Kitchen has one coming, which he admits.

Like him or hate him, Deegan earned the red plate by his riding throughout Sx, Mx, and Smx, fair and square.  Kitchen interfered with a championship in which he wasn't a contender.  It would've been different if he was.  Most racers at least state that they're don't do this.

I don't like Deegan slowing down to try to get Shimoda to drop back a few positions, but I can understand why he felt justified.

There are no asterisks.

Congrats to Jo.

And Levi has one coming, most likely when he least expects it.

What you’re missing is that Levi took HD out because it’s HD. That’s why all the best riders quickly learn to stay out of trouble and race forwards. If you make enemies they will come back to bite you at the worst time. This was absolutely HD’s fault and Karma got him.
Not the racing I wanted to see. He needs to learn to be less of a dick. Disgusting and embarrassing display from him. Jo Shimoda deserved the win.

The only recent rider (like 4 stroke era maybe even MC and onwards) with 450 title(s) that I can think of that has consistently had run ins with other riders besides the other title contenders throughout their career in a somewhat similar manner to Deegan is Anderson.

Kind of a bad trend to be on for Deegan to not understand that it clearly does not pay off to be playing games with guys that aren’t in it for a close title fight.

[“In the final 250SMX moto of the season, Deegan attempted a block pass on race and championship leader Jo Shimoda, which he hoped would result in a points swing his way for the title. However, as both Shimoda and Deegan went down, only Shimoda remounted.”]

This was the headline when I woke up this morning.

Shame on you Racer X for reporting it this way.  You are being dishonest, Deegan wasn’t trying to pass.

Juju, Schock, Kitchen, Smith and Davies would all like to have a word with you over this and prove you wrong😂or Vialle a few times last year. He’s played games with multiple guys and not a single one of them has been in a “do or die” situation for a title.

Spoken as someone who apparently doesn't race. This bullshit trickles down, if some jackass kid sees this and starts riding like this at the local track, the issue is even worse. AMA should nip it in the bud for the sake of the sport and those of us who actually find ourselves on track with idiots who think that this is OK.

Fortunately, most deegan fans don't even own a bike let alone race, but it will still have its effects.

In general it’s actually pretty sad to see this kid. If he’d been born to a “normal” set of parents he’d more than likely have grown up balanced and emotionally healthy.

Instead he got Brian as a dad who has mind fucked that kid from day one, poor little fucker never stood a chance and he’s obviously not intelligent enough to understand this.

To think…. If he goes to the front and wins by 15 seconds and books the $250k, then on the podium says I got fucked last week, so I did the best I could this week, he gets cheered.

Instead he gets this…

If that racing was pure logical for some reason unbeknownst to the broadcasters, I'd love to hear Deegan’s rational. I'm not sure what was going on, but it seemed like a possible emotional high jacking where the emotional regions of the brain completely bypass the rational parts of the brain. Really sucks, because I'd love to see him pull an '07 Villopoto on the 250f.

Deegan is no villopoto so that would never happen

If I was in charge of Team Honda, I'd take legal action against the AMA, Star Racing, and Hayden Deegan.  And whoever his gear sponsor is should activate whatever clause allows them to dump his punk ass for putting their gear in a bad light.

I’ve said this before, but a racing incident is just that.

This was intentional, premeditated and just plain stupid… when someone gets severely injured, when does it become an assault?

And in my opinion, anyone who compares it to the Osborne/ Savatgy incident is just plain wrong.

And I’m a fan of both Joey and Zach.

As a matter of principal, I'd generally not be a fan of seeing a rider who is not at all in contention for a title screwing with front-runner's points standings. However, I take exception when that front runner is someone who actively works to make himself as unlikeable as Haiden does.

The whole second generation douchebag thing is almost poetic though. I remember in the 2000's and the sheer quantity of smooth brain meth-muppets at my riding area who looked like they sold weed to middle schoolers at the skatepark and rode clapped out YZ-250's with Mulisha stickers, low visors, and were constantly about to loop out or t-bone some girl on a TTR-125 out of cluelessness. Crusty Demons was partially responsible, but Brian baited them to the sport like flies on shit. Now, his kid seems to be trying to welcoming the Andrew Tate/Jake Paul/Jack Doherty crowd who equally make me cringe.

From a racing perspective, it was kinda wild to see the consequences of the Cole Davies incident (which I think was pretty small-fry as far as aggressive moves go) come to fruition this much after the fact. With a spotlight on his aggressive riding it was kinda like he contributed to his own checkmate.

I don’t have a strong enough command of the English language to portray how loathsome I think Deegan is.  I guess I’ll just say I think he’s worse than a 40 week abortion or even worse than watching your only child who’s 6 years old succumb to leukemia after a 5 year battle.  A legit cognitively deficient madre fornicator.  It’s indisputable and irrefutable.
