Ricky’s lack of education comes through loud and clear.  However, during the time all of us were writing reports on the book 1984, he was practicing his chops on track. Nobody is wrong here, his speaking skills are definitely below par, even for a Florida resident. The redeeming factor is his experience at winning hundreds of motto’s in his life, a record no one is likely to surpass any time soon. Will he ever be a smooth talker like Mr. Michelle Obama, doubtful, but his insight is what they pay him for. He cannot be a complete idiot, as he did have a great career, and managed to earn much more money , in a much shorter time than most Americans will ever see. Not bad for a poorly educated redneck, ‘eh ?

Jesus. Your English skills are worse than Rick’s. Hopefully you have “motto” wins as well.

Spike , you certainly have a right to your own opinion. I disagree, but I am not gonna argue over it.

Watch, watch, he's going to set him up for a pass right here... Oh, he didn't go for it.

By the time he's done restarting his sentences, several things have already happened on track.

What I mean by that is...

RC is horrible.

Do you think he knows he's awful? Does he need the money? If I went to work and embarrassed myself every day I would quit regardless if I needed the money. Maybe he's broke and needs it.

Yes he knows he is awful

His ego won’t let him quit, he can’t stop announcing knowing that he will be known as the worst commentator ever, so he keeps coming back.

I actually think he is trying really hard to be good at it, and it only makes it worse

let him drink some beers during the broadcast and we would think he was the best ever.

He’s trying to be professional and polished, and thats just not him and never will be, so he fumbles over everything he says

I'm almost certain he has a couple of dad sodas before he's on TV or something. It's really obvious when he has to do a quick spot during RDL earlier in the day becuase he will sound really tuned up! Grinning I always had a hunch GL pre-gamed a bit and it turns out he was. I think the same thing is happening with RC except even if it's taking the some of the nerves away, it doesn't make him quicker on his feet or witty, it just makes him fumble nearly every sentence.

It's either that or he is just still Day 1 uncomfortable which means he's just not meant to be in that seat. I honestly don't even know which scenario would be worse.

He is not a natural speaker, so he tries to hard to make up for it. He then speaks more than he should and even when he has nothing to say  and that creates the bigger mistakes.  I think he has done well for a person who is not a gifted speaker, but in the end he is still bad. It's just not his gig.

He's definitely trying too hard. He's trying to be "exciting" or something. He needs to calm down, slow down and just be himself. He's good when he's on long form podcasts.

RC should consider to give this up.  Imagine a retired golfer or any other aport for that matter, doing commentary and its awful.  All other sports know that this doesnt work.
You know he is taking classes on becoming better in this field.  It will never work.  Some people have it and some people do not.
I certainly do not have it.
Main character personality. Reminds of a kid I grew up with, licking his cheesy fingers while eating cheetos by the pound, candy in his pockets and the kid never shut the f up.

Every year in supercross around round 7:

“There’s 9 or 10 races left”

Ricky you should know exactly how many races are left at any point in the season, you’re the fkn analyst

I subscribe to the feeling that Carmichael does just fine on his podcast with Ryan Villopoto, and anytime he’s interviewed by others. He’s just not very good at color commentary or announcing. They should rethink and redesign his role and play up to his strengths, rather than force him to try to be “Diffey Lite.”

Now, let’s get back to listing and laughing at his memorable lines!

RC - "I feel like RJ's.. ride in the outdoor... motocross was just as impressive as Jett's championship run when you consider all the things"

Weege - "oh? yeah?😅"

RC - "Yeah"

Dude said no front brakes are going to be the most difficult in going into the corner 😂😂😂 expert analysis.

also dude is obviously so biased towards Deegan. He cannot keep it professional when he gets emotional. It’s so easy to tell.

I caught a total of 6 minutes + 2 laps of the racing today, which was the last race and post race show, I got fired up after Ricky called jett hunter. Is it not obvious they have different numbers or something?

Tonight we got a rare glimpse of the take out move Carmichael doesn’t 100% approve of and even praise.,

As usual it’s a rider with a Monster Logo, on his team, or he has a relationship with. Then and only then will he call it dirty.

Otherwise he actually encourages dirty riding.

My favorite last night was when Lux Turner moved over for Deegan and RC was like: "What a nice set up" 😂
