Forkner was the only one racing Deegan, the others clearly shows respect for him or are just much slower. Seemed Austin put up a fight for long time. What's up with PC boys, they pretty much give room and then drop anchor when Deegan comes? Worst of them all is Kitchen, has he ever even tried to race Deegan? Props to Forkner you rock Austin.

Kitchen and hammaker take lines that make your head scratch at times. Especially when Deegan is behind them.
Austin managed a full season...on a new bike...with a new team. He learned how to let the race and track come to him. He learned how to race the slower guys in the pack. SX 2026 is Austin's. He spent the full season of MX training for it. Well done!!

This was certainly his best ride of the year, where he went from second to fifth. Declaring 2026 SX to be Austin’s is quite a ballsy prediction based on his 2025 results.

You're not giving his recovery the consideration it deserves. I've had the brain surgery...vertigo can take years to recover - if at all. Just the fact that he was back on the bike in 2025 is 'Triumph' enough. His early career was two speeds - stop or wide open. Triumph - their patience and training - was the best thing that could have happened to him. He's now riding smarter...he's riding safer...he's finishing races. Further; Austin's skils always shined brighter in SX vs MX. With SMX the hybrid...we were blessed to watch Austin remind everyone he still has it. Yes...SX 2026 is Austin's year.
Austin raced an entire season and is coming back towards his peak speed. I don’t know what his new peak will be, just racing competitively has to feel like some degree of success.
Huge Austin fan, but I'm not sure a championship will ever be in his sights again. He was on the Moto-X Pod this week and the way he spoke about no longer taking those risks that made him a winner but also landed him in the hospital, made me think he'll get some podiums, but may not go that extra bit to get the W or the championship. No hate whatsoever, the guy has been through hell and back, so it seems only natural that he would take a more measured approach to keep on racing. Wish nothing but the best for him and his family!
This is probably the interview being mentioned. I'm a fan, used to chat with his dad once in a while. In the beginning Austin's speech patterns aren't great but towards the end when it gets real he does great.

We’ll revisit this in a year for me to tell you, “I told you so.”
I don’t have anything against Austin, but his potential championship winning years were half a decade ago.
If you’re dumb enough to bet that this is Austin’s year…🤷🏻♂️
I've been a fan of FAST AF since the beginning of his career. When #24 was 'sending it' and running circles around everyone else on the track, this forum was full of negative comments...almost a hateful disgust for the fastest man on the track. After Austin's knee gifted Sexton a 250 Championship, the injuries kept coming.Like Cool Hand Luke, Austin wouldn't stay down. And; slowly, but surely, his fan base on this forum started growing. The respect for Austin never giving up, and his eagerness to get back on the horse, grew and grew.Unfortunately, Austin's level of injuries also grew and grew. The last injury; as horrifying as it was; was a blessing in disguise - ultimately saving his life.Austin's response - get back on the bike.As for his current speed within the field; when Denny Hamlin first took NASCAR by storm, Junior was asked about Hamlin's speed, I believe Earnhardt's reply was, 'He ain't wrecked hard enough yet.'
Now this forum has an Austin fan base...those who see his devotion to this sport is greater than any injury the gnarliest track can throw at him.For Austin to spend this last MX season 'learning' and watching those he knows are slower than he pass him only shows how much heart this kid really has.If you don't believe the riders read these forums, you are mistaken.Austin is at the stage in his career that his fan base is so important - to pick him up, when the screws, stitches, and duct tape can't hold him together.Simple words of encouragement can go such a long way.
Then there are those who can't get out of their own way...they can't read between the lines...they can't get their heads out of their own rear end.You seem to fall into that category.I would even go as far as to say you were that group's leader...but, you haven't lead anything in your entire life, have you, Cubby?
After everything he's suffered; Austin became a Champion of this sport the moment he swung a leg over the Triumph and lined up at the starting gate of the 2025 SX season.

So it sounds like you’re talking about a Brett Michaels Rock Hard, Ride Hard Award instead of a Supercross Championship now. I can get on board with that. He’s certainly come back from a list of injuries that would have permanently sidelined many. It would be great to see him on a podium again before he’s done. He almost made a whole season this year.
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MX industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MX t-shirt.
Nice ride by Austin. Hope he can keep the momentum rolling.
Forkner might be the only 250 rider old enough to remember this song.
I thought Ricky was about to jinx Forkner with a bad omen when he said, “this guy has had a tough road ahead of him” 😂

I wonder if he would be better off on a 450.
I wondered the same thing, but on the 250, Austin never looked out of control or RJ-like to me. I would love to see him back on top, regardless.
I assume he making good money? And $ should be his priority. Long term.

Dabs his knee. Damn!

Sucks! He was 2 races away from finishing out the entire year. Damn.
And people say Herlings is made of glass...
I wish all the best for Austin, but the dude can't ever get a single break.
WOW!! You're really going out on a limb betting 39 guys against 1...
I’ll give him a pass on the full season since the playoffs are sort of extra races. Hopefully it’s not serious and he can get in a good off season
Damn, locked him into fantasy and just got the news hes out.
