He truly believes it’s a bike issue.
He even turned down a great deal of money.
Sometimes factory teams actually do a worse job setting up the bikes.
Even Cianciarulo could only make the bike work for a couple of laps.
Adam never raced on anything other than Kawasaki, so he thought it was on him.

I actualky think he’s a stand-up guy.  He could probably have faked an injury and stayed another year, and cashed in.
But instead he turned down a lot of money to prove his point.

Which of Prado's sides are you on?

ACs injury and struggles trying to get back up to speed are well documented. That was not a setup issue. Prado choosing a setup he can't ride more than 10 minutes is not the team's fault either.

We have only seen a couple of motos where Prado hasn't faded or given up and one race where he intentionally tried not to qualify. What makes you think he would consider faking an injury or riding around with privateers for 2 more seasons?

Guys like aees will absolutely blame the bike, but this time the narrative will be the production bike sucks and he needs his works bike. I have no idea how he'll perform (if he even stays in the US), but there is definite downside for KTM.

I can't imagine Roger witnessing Budds Creek and still being okay with that guy on the team.

A lot of factory racers don't agree with their setup but they make the best of it and work to make it better. Prado just quit and made an ass of himself, likely because he doesn't know dick about bike setup.

Hope Kawasaki slow rolls his release so he can’t ride des Nations.  What a twit.

Question for @ML512 &/or @LewisPhillips

After the cruising around IG post which Kawasaki's motor guy and others responded to, could there have been an internal mutiny at Kawi where staff no longer wanted to work with Jorge and if so, was it a factor in him sitting out?

Only thing I can think of that is holding up this divorce is maybe Kawasaki is wanting to recoup some of a signing bonus of some sort. Nothing else makes sense from a PR stand point.

I’m with you on this. I know nothing about rider contracts but typically in a contract when both parties realise there is no value in continuing and neither is going to achieve what they want the best path is to mutually part ways.

There’s obviously something holding back either Kawi releasing him and/or Prado walking away.

On face value this is reasonable but right now we nothing about what Kawi has done (or not done) from their side apart from hearsay.

Huh? Tickle has spoken, Taka has spoken, the motor builder guy has spoken lol, Weege said he walked right up to Fahie in the pits at Budds Creek and talked to him about the situation. They don't seem to be shying away, there's just not much to say other than we're trying and he's not happy.

that certainly would have taken care of georgette.

little bitch will probably show up on a ktm for a couple women's rounds to race.

I haven’t. Dude came to a bunch of tracks he’s never ridden on a brand new chassis he has no experience on in the premier class against a class that has raced these tracks a million times on bikes they have been on for quite a while and the AMA guys are much better then the current MXGP class and still finished in 6th.

Well he hasn't been on the bike or anywhere near the team since Budds....and then Kaw wouldn't allow him for MXDN and now they have pulled him from SMX....it's up to the lawyers at this point...and with his level of breach you can assume that this isn't going to be just a mutual parting of ways....Ole George is going to have to come out of pocket I'm afraid....if only he would have tried...

He was ripping at the practice tracks pre season.
I know a few times (stupid, I know) that I rode on a track alone I felt faster than ever.
Then the next time I rode said track and there were other riders out there, I wasnt as fast as the time before. Other riders were quicker than I.

It was at this point that I fired my mechanic and switched brands.    SATIRE!!

We are all programed differently and in my belief is that he may have been surprised at the pace in the US and coming from winning the GP’s he probably had a case of WTF.

Easier to blame the team or the bike instead of admitting that he needs to find more speed.

Disclosure, I was my own mechanic and was never a pro rider.  It was always fun to hop on another brand bike though.

both of their premier riders found a way to not ride the motorcycle, kawasaki has been notorious for not letting their top riders develop the bike the way they want to and you guys are blaming a 4 time world champion and a 1 time SX champion… seriously?

Genuine question - what part of his contract has he breached?

If he doesn’t want to ride the bike and Kawi doesn’t want him riding at what point does it stop being useful to retain him?

Yeah it's Kawi's fault that Ole George slammed his team and bike on social media and quit at Budds.....bad Kawasaki. And Anderson using some lil old thyroid issue as a reason to not race was nothing but a coverup for a bad bike....this is getting out of hand....

You guys act like you know what kawi was or wasn’t doing as well as Prado. But here’s a thought. What if you are working a job and ask your employer for a drill because the screw driver isn’t working. Then the employer keeps being screw driver after screw driver for days and never gives you want you want/need? Do you quit your job and then tell people about what it was like? I feel like every interview I heard with Jorge he was always saying the team was working hard but they weren’t there yet. Maybe he said a few things towards the end a little stronger. But if you don’t think the bike makes a difference for these guys, go look at Jeremy Seewers same results on the Ducati. Podium one weekend and then fighting to score a point in the sand. It can make it that big of a difference.

Pretty sure there is a performance clause in the contract and doing and saying things that are detrimental to the team would be called a breach....it's not about retention anymore...I am pretty sure that they are working out a settlement and release as we speak, and the path to that would be covered in the termination language in the contract (Every contract has that language). That's why both sides have gone silent outside of the announcements by Team Spain and Kawi today...the next thing you will hear is that they have agreed to part ways but what you won't hear is how much that's going to cost Ole George...

Sports take an unwavering belief in yourself. Prado has it.

I hope he’s right and is fighting for wins on the KTM as soon as possible.

I do not agree that he was saying “working hard not there yet”  every interview. For about one weekend he was optimistic but by TV he was unprofessional the majority of the time. He turned it toxic very quickly and I only see prado apologist say otherwise.

Well we know he quit on the team....We know that Kawi was bending over backwards trying to get to where he wanted by testing at Club, by having Tickle work overtime on testing and by flying in Taka in from Japan with parts to try....What we don't know is whether Kawi has the ability or the personnel to meet his needs and expectations...but at the end of the day he signed the contract rode the bike and was quoted as saying how much better the Kaw was than his Gas Gas...He couldn't have handled this any worse....

Nah, they gave him the drill, he just forgot to put the battery on the charger when he left and the next day the drill died after about 5 minutes of use.

If I know that the employer makes screw drivers and I get mad at said screw drivers before quiet quitting, that's not the employers fault.

A farewell to Prado:

Jorge Prado, the champ from Spain,
Came to the States with dreams to reign.
On his new bike, he roared with pride,
But his attempt at AMA, became one pathetic ride.

With Kawasaki green, he thought he’d fly,
Right past the leaderboard, beneath the sky.
But every race he’d fade, or drop a heavy anchor,
And then blame his bike for it, oh what a rancor!

He’d rev the throttle, then spin and slide,
While pointing fingers, his ego wide.
“It’s not my skill, it’s this damn machine!”
He wailed and wailed, as fans laughed and screamed.

At High Point he was seventeenth, oh oh my!
Getting gapped by the leaders, he’d nearly cry.
“The shocks are junk, the brakes are shot!”
But Jorge, mate, it is you who’s not!

He dreamed of podiums, with gold to seize,
But instead he got lapped, with such unease.
“The gears are stuck, the engine’s slow!”
But it was the pace of the AMA, George did not know.

The crowd would chuckle, the commentators grin,
“Take responsibility Jorge, and don’t fault the spin!”
Your starts were fine, but your speed wasn’t was there,
So stop the whining, it won’t get you anywhere!

From Monster Energy, they gave him a steed,
A bike that champs would surely need.
Yet Jorge would curse, and kick the dust,
“This Kawasaki, is a pile of rust!”

He’d sulk in the pits, with a scowl so grim,
After privateers like Harrison, blew by him.
“New continent, new tracks, and a whole new bike!”
But it was the Hunter Brother’s speed, Jorge did not like.

Oh Jorge, you champion, your talent’s clear,
Two world titles, you’ve got nothing to fear!
So ditch the excuses, and take the wheel,
Stop throwing jabs at Kawi, and keep it real.

So here’s to Prado, the Spanish star,
Who came to the States but didn’t get far.
Next time, young lad, just ride your steed,
And don’t making excuses, for your lack of speed.

I read that listening to Anthrax A.I.R, and it was awesome
