WOW. The fact you hit a tree at Mach-Nipple and managed to be laughing about it in the same breath is nothing short of incredible.

We only get a couple of those where we walk away unscathed (other than the need for new underwear).

My last gate drop was 8 years ago - Endo/Swapped into the face of a tabletop with the bike chasing me...Right before I hit the face of the tabletop I can remember thinking "ball game".

The bike did pretzel me, flew half the jump semi-attached to the bike (think McAdoo at Daytona). Cracked my helmet from the top to the chin bar, chest protector splintered, neck brace tweaked..... Walked away with a broken collarbone. That was my really lucky one, and I decided not to see if I could get that lucky twice.

Glad you are OK man!

Haha That was cool got anymore ?  Good crashes r awesome Remember wide world of sports . The skier crashing off the ski flying ramp ?  Parents divorced on daddy day we called it he took us skiing.  The hill let us 5-6th grade boys build jumps even even tho we had no idea how to jump . The skis had a strap wrapped around your boots . So you crash then your skis crack ya.  Get off the lift skate ski like a Olympian then drop your butt on your skis. Pretending your a downhill racer those are spectacular high speed crashes .  Swing from a rope or jump into a pile of hay inside the barn a lot .  We laughed so f ing hard pulling each other behind a snowmobile trying to crash each other into huge drifts . That we almost peed our pants .

Brother, it looked like you were absolutely flying.  I had to double check to see if it was still on 2x speed.

The bars on that GasGas are bent...   I got on the KX450 and did a 30 in the 98°F heat. 🤣

For the guys asking, it felt like my wrist locked.  (I broke that wrist about six years ago).

My Garmin watch said that section was 50mph to 55mph on a fast lap.
I don't know what speed I was going when I let go of the bike, but I was expecting my next ride to be on a helicopter.

I did something similar 2 years ago- Somehow got myself off the track and into the woods. I did hit a tree dead on but was able to get slowed down before hitting it.

I did tweak my neck in that crash which took several months to fully heal ..

You definitely got lucky.

That's lucky you could slow down...  Big trees do NOT move and a tweaked neck is far better than a broken one.

The little saplings I hit actually slowed me down gently.
I have a minor bruise on my left bicep and my right wrist.

Even your crashes shit excellence.

Your wrist locked up? I'm making a mental note to never pass you on the outside or line up outside of you on the start line.

I broke that wrist and I have less range of motion.  I was over-gripped and didn't have the range of motion to shut off completely.

@matze, that reaction was genuine surprise and adrenaline fueled joy...  I thought I was heading toward a life flight when I hit that berm.
