Webster is also a 450 guy but did the job on the 250 last year.
Positives for Webster- all HRC team and part of the defending team.
Positives for Beaton- currently beating Webster for the Aussie title and is in great form. Would Star give him a bike?

Certainly not Star’s “responsibility”, but Beaton rides for CDR Yamaha, which is Australia’s factory Yami team, with direct ties to Japan Yamaha. Star is the US Yamaha factory team , but I don’t know if there’s any links with Japan? If there is, then I could see the discussion being had about supplying an American spec bike for a race in America.

Jago Geerts rode a Star bike at Redbud the last time.

When Zacho and Anderson rode at Assen they tested with the European factory husky team and had a option to ride that bike if they wanted to but ended up using their own.

It’s a fairly common thing to rent bikes from the ”local” factory team over seas and bring your own suspension kind of deal.

I think Vialle rode a European mx2 bike with his US suspension in France to.

as someone else said, if you are a factory rider for a brand in your own series, it’s common courtesy to get help from the factory teams from other countries if you go there.

I like the us chances this year. Excited to hear the team since it’s at iron man. Deegan is the only 250 choice. Don’t think Eli would go and half ass it. Then we have chase j coop and rj who all great choices. But as the title states I don’t see anyone beating Jett and hunter if they start up front.

Im betting Captain America doesn't show again

Yeah. I don't know about the overall, because the US has by far the best 250 rider. But in terms of races I fully expect the Lawrences to go 1, 1, 1-2 in their races. With Herlings out and Gajser just coming back I don't see anybody challenging them. Coenen isn't at that level I don't think. He might try and crash out like last year though.

Herlings out?????? And coenen is on that level.........

Yeah not sure about Herlings. He's out right now that's what I meant. I guess it depends on how he comes back or whether he needs a couple months again to get back into the swing of things. At Matterley he wasn't a factor, so unless he's 100% I don't see him beating either of the brothers on a US track.

Coenen is good but I don't see him beat Jett or Hunter in the US. On a European track it maybe a different story.

At this point Tomac is no lock to represent team USA. Age has seen to catch up to him and Jason Anderson quickly.

Maybe the Bullet or Gasjer steals a moto from Jett. This is a team race thank goodness and with a little luck we could have the best team on paper. J Coop has stepped up in the past but it was in the 250 role where only one good result was likely necessary. We need Eli to snap out of this funk at least for that weekend and Chase to get out of his own head and ride the bike like he knows how.

Gajser proved he can, but I’m not sure anyone gets Jett at Ironman without “something” happening.

I also think that Hunter is more track dependent than Jett.  He was close at Spring Creek, but might be 20 back at another track.  Sexton will be on better form, but I still don’t think he’ll be at MXoN.

I see Jett winning MX1, Hunter being top 3 in MX3 and Beaton getting worked by a few of the MX2 guys making it very close at the top.

There are going to be some powerhouse teams…

Serious question, if Tomac's form doesn't improve and Sexton does continue to get beat by 20 odd seconds by both Jett and Hunter do you think Deegan will still line up for the US ?  I wouldn't think he would given that the chances of the US winning would be lower, but then there is the chance to still put himself against the best 250 riders in the world and see how he stacks up

Yeah he's going. Other than Jett anything can and does happen at that race. I believe Eli and Chase are the best picks regardless of current circumstances.

I almost feel as though he has to go as well, given he is the best 250 rider, its on US soil and regardless of who his teammates are he should be representing his country, other than if he does get injured between now and then there really is no excuse

It doesn't seem like Sexton is interested if he is picked and if Tomac doesn't pull out of his funk I can see the team being RJ , Cooper , and Deegan . That is if Deegan will ride for a team that's a long shot to win .

i can see it already..

"Haiden Deegan will not compete at the 2025 Motocross of Nations, citing a leg injury sustained during the Pro Motocross Championship season.

The decision was made in consultation with his medical team and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, prioritizing a full recovery ahead of the 2026 Supercross season. While the injury is not considered serious, Deegan is dealing with a deep contusion that requires rest and rehabilitation.

“After a long and demanding season, we’ve decided it’s best for Haiden to take time to recover properly,” said a team spokesperson. “His focus now shifts to preparing for his Supercross title defense in 2026.”

Just kidding.. not that Deegan would do such a thing to his country and fans.

We've definitely got the FMOTP.  And Hunta is moving toward the top of the top five.

In a recent interview with Lewis, Chase pretty much ruled out going to MXON.

Of course he should go. It's an opportunity to represent the United States. It shouldn't even be a question - especially in that it's on home soil. Add to that the fact he struts around waving American flags and proclaims his so-called 'patriotism' on a regular basis.

I'm a big fan of Jay (I was at Saitama last year when he wrapped up his title), but I think Webster would be a better choice for you guys based off of his rides in the states last summer.

Not sure we have a problem with Beaton or Webster and honestly I think they are a better selection.  Either one of these two are the next best behind Hunter and Jett.
