I picked up a TM MX112 supermini for my son last week. I decided I didn’t want the hassle or expense to build a full-blown supermini from scratch so I decided to see what the Italian steed was all about. First week on it and he likes it a lot better than his outgoing Austrian ride. Thought some of you 2-Smoke fanatics would dig it. 
TM's are beautiful machines. Congratulations on the purchase, that's awesome your boy is already digging the bike.

Always wanted to add a TM to the garage, no idea how well the big bikes perform but the attention to detail and component quality look outstanding.

Yes, it's the only aluminum-framed mini. Got a lot of second looks this weekend at the track because it tricks your brain into thinking its a 125 at first glance. It also sounds like one 😉

Your kid looks Fast . Every detail of the bike is Wow . Good to see the hgs back on Tm,s the 125 changed . Got to hv good topend with that short head pipe . That pipe design is extensive. You can order a 125 with factory race porting . Can you order a 112 that way. The frame is basically a mini crf 250. I could see that chassis being able to do more in the rough than the others . Probably hits rough lines consistently.

Subjectively, do you get the impression that the TM would compete with the market favorites of the KTM group? In other words, does it seem to get to that extra power sweet spot like the KTM’s or is it just a hair below the market leaders?
From just a couple of hours on this bike, I'd say likely yes, but to be fair, we haven't tried an 85. He's already comfortable on it, and it's all around faster than his 105 supermini, but we haven't tried a built Austrian 112. Heard too many reliability stories after stroking the 105. I may get an 85 for next year since he's now 13 and they've made 19/16 big wheels legal in the 85/mini sr. class. I have no hesitation.
The TM300 is a killer MX bike, its like a small 500 instead of being a big 250.
Raced them loads in SM trim in Europe, and loved my MX bike too.

(I’m riding off road, so infrequently, and Moto even less, I wouldn’t have ridden it yet, even if I’d bought it. Getting old sucks, and places to ride are disappearing
