Damn, MX has been good to RV!

Last sold for $6m 3 years ago, so he stands to make $6m in 3 years (but he probably put some $$$ into renovations- but no way it was millions of reno).

Has to be the only private home in Newport with a kids MX track in the front yard!

Holy shit. I guess I should’ve known better but when I heard he was renovating a house in Newport, I was not expecting that. Crazy pad! That lot is huge.

If he gets that he could double his money on it in just 3 years!

Wow, what a cool spread!  Those pendant lights are a little silly though.

$13m for 4300 square feet?  I know the location and property are nice, but come on.  I see the estimated monthly payment is only $82K, lol

Was cruising the back bay bike trail once with my fam a few years back, and we ran into RV2 and his boys. He was down to earth shot the shit with me for a few minutes before we carried on with our ride. I knew he lived in Newport, but no idea he lived that close!

You'd be surprised. It's "easy" to spend $200-$300 a square foot in high dollar remodels. That backyard is also a couple hundred grand if he also put that in

Neighborhood comps according to Zillow. RV's house is in the center with the small tile photo.

Dam, didn't think he made that much to live in a $12M pad.

I mean, it's "only" $3000/ sq ft.

Using those numbers, our first house would have been 12 sq. ft.

Hmmmm... do we go with 3x4, 2x6 or the shotgun at 1x12?

Wow!  It's good to be fast on a dirt bike.

Not sure how old his kids are, but are they staying in SoCal?

Probably has a home in WA state too?

Good on him, hope he gets close to his ask. It's a tougher RE market now for sure

Almost an acre of land in Newport Beach. Come on, bruh. No one pays that kind of money in Newport Beach, California for 4300 sq ft of 2x4s nailed together.

Very nice home. He's done well obviously and deserves it. For comparison...I live in SE Wisconsin. My 2,000 sq' ranch on about 1 acre is assessed at around $470,000 or $235 sq'. My house would be just under $6,000,000 in Newport...lol. Obviously, my home isn't as nice as RV's. But the price per sq' is insane.

The monthly payment really puts it into perspective, $80k a month mortgage is a wild thought.

Imagine making $200K month. That’s about what it takes to comfortably afford a $80k/month mortgage.

Most people at this level are dealing in cash any way.

Matthes (or maybe it was Keefer) was saying that along with a lot of other people, RV is heading east because of the limited number of riding opportunities in California now. However he was saying that in RV's case, "out east" for them means Murietta right now and maybe further east somewhere down the line.

For those that have never been to Newport Beach - The size of the lot alone is incredible.

Newport also, while pretentious and snobby, is arguably one the cleanest and safest places in the US, if not the world. All of the issues the get national press for CA fade away (homeless, grafitti, etc) the moment you cross into "Newps".

Whew. I think his place is amazing, but wonder if this will make it a tough sell. Nothing else nearby even comes close.
