Can’t make this stuff up. Elon made his billions leaching off tax payers and then fired a bunch of government employees. Trump proposed to increase the deficit and Elon said he just undid everything they worked towards.  Then this massive shit show follows.

If you're OK with you wife or husband not balancing the family budget yet adding more debt every year I don't know what to tell you.

I really dont understand how being fiscally responsible and trying to spend less than what you're taking in is considered the "demise" of said family?

If a bill passes that add to the federal debt, then vote out whomever the congressperson was. Whether they voted for it or not, hold YOUR congresspersons responsible for the actions of Congress. Don't let any of them get away with the blame game!

I'm definitely for fiscal responsibility, pretty hard not to be as you get older. Obviously you don't cut taxes if you're working on debt, but Musk = DOGE and DOGE is kinda garbage. Efficiency is the measure of one thing against another, but all they've done is cut. They've done none of the efficiency part where you figure out ways to maintain output with fewer resources. If all you do is cut and you don't bring anyone in to redesign the way these agencies operate, all you've done is worsen efficiency. 

And this is what it's really about, crippling the Federal government so they're unable to go after big corps for the laws they break, the waste they dump, the cancer give people, and the accountability for any of it. Musk is even more corporate than Trump. This is a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario, but I think that more Maga is not the answer. And cuts don't always work how they seem at first, like cutting the program where we pay farmers to grow food for kids and seniors, not awesome and definitely not the "corners of your crops" we should be striving for, but guess what will happen next.....they're already talking about a bailout for farmers. 

It's like if your gas budget for your car were cut to zero and you weren't able to make it to work. Sometimes you need to spend intelligently in order to make money. We're not doing a good job there and Trump and Musk had their opportunity.

Even if the nucleus of this fight is genuine, the shit slinging is way out of proportion.

I finally got tired of sounding like an idiot, defending everything dubya did, so I quit. The overall feeling was like taking a huge dump or enjoying a really long fart. Very satisfying. That was what my comment was about. Read the lyrics to "Hurt". It pretty much spells out what happens when you place too much faith in certain humans. Especially politicians.

So in your example the one guy is still digging. 

 

The other 10 workers standing around have been reduced to 6 only because the first 4 that were cut were new hires on probationary status. 

Thus the one guy digging is still doing all the work.

 

A small win to address the waste, fraud and abuse in the government but in reality way more to go.

 

Frankly I would still be all for it if it was a Democrat doing it but we both know trimming the government would never happen under a Democrat or Republican so that's why Orange man Bad gets some credit here for doing anything about it.

 

You got issues about how's he's doing  it that's fine but what's your guy proposing besides the staus quo?

 

Don't forget we are talking about the government spending your and mine hard earned tax dollars

But Musk has been consistent for years in asking the government to get rid of the subsidies because, as he saw it, Telsa was the market leader and the subsidies only helped competitors gain market share for EVs. Numerous interviews confirm this. I don't think Trump's statement is true, and I think he knows it's not true. 

Trump also said he'd cancel the SpaceX contracts. The US doesn't really have any other options for orbital deliveries in the near term. Plus, a lot of SpaceX's work falls in the category of defense spending. Do you think there's any truth to the statement about cancelling those contracts? You want to spend two weeks struggling to make the TACO moniker stick and then argue "Trump is 100 percent cereal about this, guys," suit yourself. But I don't believe that threat. 

And then for Elon, the Epstein comment. Trump's name on the Epstein files has been well reported for years. So the statement is true, but nothing really new. The implication is that there is some bombshell in there that hasn't been covered yet, but that's an allegation that we will probably never be able to verify. If they release the Epstein file and Trump isn't implicated, would you believe it? Could you be convinced that the file is complete? It's an empty claim that's nearly impossible to prove or disprove, and that's as good as a lie. 

Also, Trump's internet trolling is a hallmark of his political career. In fact, his political career only got started because he trolled Obama so bad that he got a sitting president to release a birth certificate to prove his citizenship. For the better part of two decades, Trump has been relentlessly bullshitting on the internet. I'm not eager to assume that this isn't just another episode.
