I bought a new KX 450 last week at a shop that also sold Suzuki. I was surprised to see the Kawi was $8600 out the door while the RMZ 450 was $9900 out the door.
Hand crank? LOL
Would love to see updated bikes. With Ducati entering the market, that makes 10 legit MX brands for the consumer to consider in 2026. Good times that we will probably look back on favorably.
Funny to think that we thought EV bikes were coming hard a few years ago.
Suzuki doesn’t even bother to add Bold New Graphics to the bikes anymore 😂🤣😂🤣
Bump start only.

Decent bait.
‘Seems Suzuki has been a little quiet’..
Yep since 2019.
Can you guys imagine a pull-start 450? 😱 No worries, that would require a redesign.
I am too many years removed from my Suzuki days to be able to give any advice on the new RM-Zs, if there are any. However, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that the engineers have already updated the machine, but it isn't getting released. Why? It's entirely possible that Suzuki marketing is waiting for more favorable conditions (MX bike boom) before releasing a new model, because seeing your brand-new model flop in sales is worse than seeing a seven year old design flop. The irony is that there are more manufacturers entering the market, so Suzuki's slice is going to get smaller no matter what. They aren't going to sell more RM-Zs by waiting.
At this point, If I had to bet $1,000 on what Suzuki's next motocross model will be, I'd probably say "not a 450F." I'd have a hard time deciding between "RM-E Electric Bike" or "Nothing; Suzuki is leaving the MX market."
Um, no, “we” did not think e-bikes would be a thing. It’s only a thing for virtue signaling people.
They updated the DRZ for the first time since the iron age, so that gives me hope for an RMZ update, if not this year than the next.
Sadly, I agree with this. Frustrating thinking about the rich history of Suzuki in motocross. Some of the racing legends rode Suzuki's. Many championships and records have been set on Suzuki.
I kinda pisses you off to think about. But I too see the writing on the wall, and it's not positive.
That the "new" DRZ addressed none of the previous models biggest flaws - weight and lack of six speed - should amply display how out of touch Suzuki is right now and give very little hope about a new RMZ. And the new DR is remarkably more expensive than the old one as well.
Hand crank?? Hahahaha!! 😆
Not holding my breath
I think Suzuki will just keep rolling out the 2018 until people stop buying or when they have no existence in sx/mx
I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw an electric before we saw an updated moto
If I was in the market for a new 450, I’d buy the RMZ.
But my next new bike purchase will be electric.
I’ve got a few financials to sort out at home (building an extension) and then I’m pulling the trigger on a stark EX.
Pullstart? It has been done before.
I'd rather buy a Stark Varg.
What I find odd about this, they are still sponsoring SX. So it is not like they are just making dated bikes and sunsetting that effort, they are still spending at least some money at the races.
At least 10 pages!
No need to ruin a good thing.
Pit Row
Still the best looking bike there is. But come on man with a estart.
Last weekend I drove 2 1/2 hours to ride an event (went up the day before and stayed in a hotel). Somehow between the previous weekend and that one, my battery went flat. I have never been more happy to reach down and pull out my kick starter (2017 KTM XC-W). If it had been either of my other two motorcycles I would have been done before I even started.
I understand it’s not super common but I’m fine kicking as e start is another maintenance item at enmity with my wallet. Batteries aren’t forever.
Can't get rid of kick start otherwise it would be button-start Kenny or pull-start Kenny. Real men kick start their bikes!
Its still something, I have to believe in something.
Hopefully not, I’m about ready to replace my Suzuki and as long as the price is right again I’ll get another. They just need an e start to shift public perception. I started mine hot in 1 kick today and cold in two. It’s been extremely reliable
That, my friend, appears to be a good ol' 2-stroke motorcycle.
Now, I wouldn't want to pull start that thing either, but I was referring to a modern, high-compression 450 4-stroke, like an RM-Z450. (Okay, maybe "modern" isn't the perfect word for that bike, but you get my point. Keeping it on topic.)
Aren't you the one that hand started it? I did it one day for fun. So easy to start.
My YZ250 on the other hand.. Do not kick without some serious footwear. If I kicked that thing in vans and it was beyond painful.
Hi Jake, as an owner what would be your first wish for a 2026 RMZ to have?
1. Remove BFRC Shock for a quality showa unit. Prefer total KYB swap.
2. Slightly longer linkage
3. Switch to Pirelli or dunlops
4. Engine braking is bad. They need to do some engine work to this bike. Power is awesome and rideable, but the engine braking sucks.
Maybe I'm biased beyond belief but I'm telling you this bike I currently is completely incredible with valving and a new shock basically. The rest is preference besides the engine braking.
Kick start is fine with me. Had a ktm go dead on calico train in CO due to too many time start and stop. It was freaking miserable trying to get back with bump start
You know you can just jump start them,
