Given the amount of social media threats I have seen I am not surprised, there are a lot of keyboard warriors out there and some are so unhinged they could follow through a threat 

That's actually his new boyfriend and I for one am proud that he chooses to be open about it in this crowd.

There are obviously many unhinged individuals who seem to have issues with Jett. It’s disgusting that a motor sports figure would need a bodyguard but with social media it doesn’t surprise me. With minimal security at the Nationals I think it’s a smart move 

Take a look at who’s on the “other side” of his current off-track dispute. I don’t think you can call Clownsey or Mirtl sane with a straight face, and the former’s followers are even worse.

Whether it's necessary or not, it's a pretty sad day that the top rider in our sport feels that they need additional protection at a motocross race.  Some of you guys want to make the sport mainstream?  Well this is the kind of shit you get when the mainstream public gets ahold of something.  We have a pretty cool thing going on right now and as fans we enjoy a level of relaxed atmosphere and access at outdoor races that few other motorsports can provide, if you really want this mainstream so your neighbor thinks you're cool because you have a bike in your garage, then expect more of this type of stuff in the future.  

Everything the Lawrence’s are is what Vital wanted the Deegans to be. A terrible representation of the sport.

 Jett obviously has concerns about his safety. Cooksey and Myrtl are deranged lunatics attacking him almost daily trying to turn the public against Jett. The sort of people who believe the conspiracy shit Cooksey comes up with are the same people you probably have to fear doing something crazy in public. Just takes one threat to be real.
