I've long insisted that KTM's are Rotax engines anyway. I got banned from the BRP employee forum for awhile for going on about it but go look at a 250 Rotax shifter kart engine and a 250 KTM. Just saying.
I think dealers are always free to sell bikes at whatever price they want. They own them once they buy them. Incentives get paid by the manufacturer to the dealer at time of sale. A company being liquidated probably won’t be giving out incentives to dealers.
Given production stopped again dealer might not want to deal too much if they don’t know when they will be resupplied.
Most dealers pay flooring on their inventory thru a bank. So the banks own a lot of bikes.
Here is what my local dealer (Boise) is sitting on in terms of Inventory. I cant imagine the amount of KTM, HQV and GASGAS are sitting around.
It's a big chunk of cash.

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
wow, lot of bikes. Looks like they really fucked up ordering way to much inventory.
In 2023, around this time I bought a 2023 sxf450, $9500 otd
In 2024, around this time I bought a 2024 sxf450, $9500 otd.
Last week I was quoted $12500 otd for a 2025 sxf450, and $11000 for a 2024 sxf250.
Same dealers.
Not apples to apples, but no way I was gonna commit that much to a bike from ktm.
In the end, got a yz250f from a friend of a friend with low hours for much less and it's tricked out.
Feels good to be away from ktm. I have those two 450s and two 2018 125s and will just keep them.
Carl's sells a lot , like 7 full time sales people.
If it's a big dealer, they may have been one of the ones that picked up tons of inventory when KTM North America auctioned off all their wharehoused inventory to dealers a few months ago.
A further article about the possibility of a BRP acquisition of KTM et al, from ADVrider.com :

At that point the KTM brand name won’t be worth a rub!
It’ll be a $1 transaction.
CFMoto will pay more for the brand name.
I've read reports that Bajaj just voted to put another €125M by next week, I would now expect BRP to add to the pot (€100M?) in order for PMG to reach the €600M restructuring payment deadline by next Friday.
US investors like BlackRock, Fortress, King Street and Oak Hill are also said to be on the ranks.
One week is all they got to finalize this and save 3000 jobs or go into bankruptcy, we'll see.
On a sidenote, PMG are already making about half of their bikes outside Austria, not sure they could afford to make much more than that while still commanding a "euro premium price".
Doesn't sound like good chances to get 400m Euros in a week.
Great job, idiots. 😂
What happens on May 23rd, 2025 when you all realize you wasted hours on these forums? Will you be mad at KTM for that too?
Enlighten us MXadick.... what happens next?
I could be 100% wrong and probably am but I’ve got a really hard time seeing any big time PE firms thinking that this is a good place to dump significant capital into. Sure they have tons of cash to spend but they expect a really nice return on it. I don’t see this being one of them. Way too risky.
What’s your thoughts on the swap over. Good/bad
This is probably not good for the bottom line, eh?

60ish Husky and GG models and MY concerned representing about 20k bikes sold in North America ? So on average that would make about 300-400 sales for each model for every model year?
