That’s the thing now a days so much more was done off camera and out of the public eye. Ask anyone in the know what rc said to Stewart at dilla when he landed on him..

I have heard some of what RC has said about Stewart at Southwick when James said he wouldn't ride the second moto unless they groomed it. Its not much worse than the stuff my friends an I have said to each other when calling each other out. I'm sure he may have had some real choice words at Unadilla, and Binghamton when James almost did it again, but instead only took himself out that time.

The difference is he had the self restraint to not say it on TV . And that is to another racer that You are involved in a heated battle with.  Not the fans,    but really is it really a big deal? If Your favorite rider got booed and told the crowd to Suck it, How would You feel about it?  Its not like Haiden was caught in a You tube video or some off the track, off the broadcast videos. He knew what he was doing.

Zach Osborn took  out Joey  in a much more aggressive move for the title.

Dylan Fernandes cleaned out more people in his last year on 250's than Deegan has his entire time on 250's.

J-Law was smoking pot in the Pro pits right after and before getting the fastest laps in practice.

Riders have admitted to likely still being drunk the day of a race from the night before and have still been able to be an all time great rider.

And I'm sure I could list more riders that have said dumber things on the podium or for sure off the track,  and taken out more guys.

I don't like to watch that style racing personally. I did enjoy riding aggressively and banging back and forth early on in my racing ( probably why I walk like a duck and it sounds like bubble wrap popping as I move). But as far as watching, I find it is often more exciting when they race clean enough that nobody crashes or gets slowed down to the point that they are too far behind to try and put up a fight.

I find it funny how people want the riders to be themselves, would like to see them talk more trash,  that they miss the aggressive block passes of the 90's or whatever. And then come and hate on Deegan when he delivers just because he has a famous Dad.  At this point , Deegan would have the ride he has even if his Dad was MX addic. His riding has backed up the support he has.

I don't love the WWE style stuff. But I think that he mostly is respectful of other racers during the races. Not really any worse than  a lot of top guys are. He's just amplifying his personality, or being himself. I think hes going to be a great 450 racer, probably be like Jett and be better on a 450 than he is on a 250.

The reason Haiden Deegan is saying things that are inappropriate, and inflammatory is clearly witnessed by this thread…which will doubtlessly go on for many more pages.

If you can’t build a brand on being the good guy…build a brand on being the bad guy. The latter is frequently more lucrative than the former. Just ask Brian Deegan.

Dont single out Dungey. Villopoto had less personality than anyone

You really think this? Both Ryan’s showed glimpses of character, just kept it professional, but Villopoto definitely showed flashes of personality

end thread.

He's simply replicating daddy's biz model...and doing so very well. we might as well expect this throughout his career...though I maintain my thoughts that he's going to be a 5-8th place guy in 450s. Them boys are gonna freaking work him....

I doubt its worse than people are  thinking it was. But again if he said it knowingly on TV I would likley dissagree. Perhaps with my wordy reply you misunderstood  and think im making anytype of comparison to what Deegan said as far as the level of offesivness compared to what Rc said. Im not. Im saying its 2 totally differnt situations.

I dont care what rc said,  I also dont think its a big deal what Deegan said or equal if what rc said was so horrible.

If cooper webb came out and did the same thing next week half the people that dislike that deegan did it, would say how he is such a badass.

My biggest issue with his podium interview is him not remotely acknowledging the two men who congratulated him and handed him the plate and trophy.  When someone gives you something, earned or not, you look them in the eye and say "Thank you".  Guy's just a giant tool.

He gave Pelletier a slight handshake, not a normal one, but he tried, I think he was just very emotional.

Yeah. But the only people that heard it were him and James and the very limited people within earshot. I have an idea of what was said but I was not there and it’s like a game of telephone. I could be completely wrong. But, with not much social media back in those days and me hearing the same thing from multiple people that didn’t know each other makes me think it’s sort of right. Who knows though.

Go back and watch the other times he have been presentated with the plate after gotten the title, he just janks it out of the other guys hand and raises it in to the air.

I don’t care who the rider is, it’s a really shitty look not being able to take a second and shake the guys hand when you get a trophy.

We live in a woke DEI culture trhat sucks. Fan's booing Deegan were on the rag sensitive. Cole put. himself outside of deegan in practice and went over the berm and obviously failed to learn his lesson in the main. Be honest, you would do the same or worse for an AMA #! SX Plate and $550k - a million dollars

The only reason he said what he said on the podium is because of the boos he got after riding his heart out and winning the title. I don’t blame Haiden one bit for what he said.

In reading through this, it amazes me the lengths of speculation people will go through to fulfill the narrative they want to bind their conversation to. For all the talk of Brian Deegan's parenting, Haiden's illnesses, thoughts, and discipline, what other famous people like Trump or Hannah are like, none of us really know these people, it is all just speculation. This multi-millionaire teenager, who has been raised to perform on the track exactly like he did Saturday night and has dedicated his life to that cause, was booed by the very people all this dedication and training was meant to satisfy and please. To lash back out is understandable. To all those that ridicule his behavior, I would suggest you have never been in any situation remotely close to that.

Yeah, almost a couple days removed from the race and i find myself on Haidens side more and more. I dont love the move parking a teammate. But it was for a championship and all that comes with a title. Anything could happen at the final round to jeopardize him winning the title. When you have your shot you take it.

So this 19yr old just won his first 250 sx title and half the stadium starts booing him. Something he's worked for his whole life and in the midst of his euphoria hes getting shit on. He was real up there and said suck it. This is getting blown up so badly. Can we hurry up and get to outdoors?

Was it really "for a championship" though? If Deegan got 2nd to Davies in Denver and in SLC, he still wins the championship. So because he wanted the championship early, the move is more justified? With that same logic Cooper Webb should have blew Sexton over a berm a few weeks ago so he could wrap up the championship early.

It’s crazy how one rider goes against the narrative and everyone dogpile hates on him. Obviously he has tons of fans, but the amount of hate he gets on here is absurd and disrespectful to our sport as fans and riders alike.

Someone finally brings some grittiness, fun, and punk rock style/personality to the sport and you all say he’s trashy and a classless piece of shit.

But then complain about all the motocross kids that were homeschooled and talk like a robot reading off a script with zero personality.

For fucks sake some of you even hate on Aaron Plessiinger, calling him a fake cowboy, how can he be country from Ohio, ect. Who the hell are you to tell someone how to act and dress? There’s plenty of “cowboy” type people in every state, and if someone decides that’s who they truely are and wants to express themselves, then fucking let them.

I love this sport, and am so thankful for riders like Deegan, AP, Rodbell, 722, and more who have fun with it.

I think we are entering one of the best and most entertaining eras of the sport yet.

With that same logic Cooper Webb should have blew Sexton over a berm a few weeks ago so he could wrap up the championship early.

What if he catches a footpeg in the spokes in the first turn next week? Anything can happen in Motorsports.

Anyone notice Deegans total inability to answer any podium interview questions ?  Must be incredibly frustrating for JT etc.

Same thing every week. No eye contact. Maybe he is too dumb to answer an off the cuff question ?

So, can anyone explain why Deegan took Davies out in the qualies?

Was that a move for the championship? I think I would have whooped Deegs ass after that one to let him know that taking out teammates in practice ain't cool.

Yes. He shows his tics in every interview, its obvious he has anxiety and is nervous. You can also see them get worse when he is clearly stressed. Example after the crowds reaction and his speech he tried to stick his tongue out but didn't do it. His nervous laugh after being asked somewhat controversial questions. His standard yeah definitely during every interview.
