I’m stuck on the couch post-surgery and I’m watching all the racing that’s on tv. All of it.
I watched MotoGP today…from Spain…an AMAZING race course…Jerez…and it was an exciting race by MotoGP standards including a few get-offs that looked rather expensive…but, compared to our SX coverage…compared to our SX races?
I’m sorry, but, it’s just BORING.
NASCAR is on, right now…Talladega…the Jack Links 500…high speed mega oval…from the merge onto pit-road to unsuccessful restarts…typical Talladega Bumper Cars…but, again…compared to our SX races and coverage…
BORING as hell.
Here’s where many are gonna lose it…and I get it if ya disagree…but…
F1…which I love…is…also…BORING compared to SX. Yes, that Saudi race was a yawner…sorry. Although, I can watch Azerbaijan or Monaco ALL DAY! 🤣
Now, we can go off on the usual tangent of who should be in what booth and when…and the producers seemingly not interested in the same “racing action” that us veterans of the sport are but, uh…no.
I’m over it.
We need to STFU on all that whining & bitching & moaning…it’s just stupid when you realize that our tv coverage is truly exciting and sure as hell ain’t “boring”.
Again, maybe it’s jus’ me. Because, I love this stuff.
Hearing The Brothers Lawrence in the booth last night has me jonesing for their return to racing. Watching J Coop FINALLY UNLEASH THE BEAST…was amazing. Thoroughly enjoying seeing Dean take his new ride in stride and starting to figure it out.

Sorry Manny. Going to completely disagree here. MotoGP is boring, F1 is not boring. We can do way better. Our sport is that exciting that even with horrible production it seems ok. While you may be “ok” simply because. I see opportunity for huge improvement at hardly a cost.
I don’t care who the hell they put in the booth for SX or Mx..I love moto so I watch no matter what…. But screetch need to go….

I’ll watch SMX, MXGP, and motogp no matter how rough the production or commentary is.
F1 is boring as fuck.
We think it’s exciting because we’re moto fans, however non-moto people may think otherwise. Just the same as any sport, it’s whatever floats your boat.
The sad thing is that those in charge of broadcasting our exciting sport must think it’s boring, because every week they put prerecorded interviews on within the first two minutes of racing……
I don't have a complaint in the world about the coverage or the racing. I figured out that if I bitch and moan about everything in life that ain't perfect or to my liking...well, I just ain't gonna be that person.
When I turn on the race and the RDL or night show crew are looking out of the TV at me, telling me they appreciate me tuning in and it's gonna be a great night of racing...I feel pretty dang good. When Ricky gets all flummoxed and sounds like he just learned how to talk...I think, "what a dumbass" and laugh...cause even though he is the GOAT...he's still a human man and so am I.
Trying to say SX has better production and coverage than MotoGP is laughable, get your head out your ass.
There’s a night and day difference. SX is about 10 years behind MotoGP

I kind of like RC. I know that is sacrilege around here, but he doesn't bother me at all and even makes me laugh quite often. No, he's not getting a spot in the booth to call the Super Bowl, but he's not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. "What'cha got for us, Will..."
Young Rick was a 3 trick pony last night on one of his fumbles, took him 3 times to get it out and I just laughed. Guess thats what I’ll do from here on out…

Manny you must still be hopped up on post surgery goofballs… no way that Doofy and Marbles are more exciting. I give Will a pass because i genuinely feel she does a good job on the podium, her long form/ conversational answers should be programmed in between the motos or during the down time of track maintenance. JT does a good job from his position as a track side reporter, but the constant pass the mic between all four constantly is confusing especially with all the Whoooaaaaas from RC and his unfinished thoughts. This doesn’t present a concise call of the action on the track and Hunter proved this point yesterday as he effortlessly called the action while giving his analysis as a rider to track conditions, different lines, passes… it was refreshing!
Our racing is considerably more exciting. That’s my point. That’s all.
And someone, somehow, tried to jumble my words as if I said the “production and coverage” of our shows are better than MotoGP and others…uh…what the actual FU**…? This wix or wiz dude is waaaaay high on that one & I mean waaaaay…HIGH 😂
As we can all see, many are quite unhappy with the “crew” of our tv show. Got it. In-fact, post Daniel debacle…you know, when they got rid of Daniel for whatever reason that makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO ANY OF US…well, since then…it seems like all I read and hear is how bad all of the show is… all of it…and here’s what I’m sayin’ to that madness…
“Uh, no. It ain’t.”
That’s all.
Again, what I started all this with is this: our racing is waaaay more exciting and seldom…if ever…boring.

Yes, I agree they clearly think the sport in itself is not enough and believe they need to add all the bullshit - background stories and so on.
Personally, I'm increasingly watching SX on mute and find it's much better. Without Leak Diffey and his halfwit sidekick RC you can really just focus on the racing and appreciate the intricacies. I believe the racing is enough, and would be enough for new fans. This would be greatly aided by having someone in the booth that could bring out the technique, strategy and beauty of supercross - for instance Paul Malin.
A while back Gypsy was talking with someone about how all the camera angles were really far away and was horrible, lately I’ve noticed they’ve been using better close up angles from track level which is noticeably better, and only once did I notice myself yelling “show the RACE”
To start with MotoGP has two commentators that can string a sentence together.
MotoGP also doesn’t run interviews half through the main race asking riders if they’ve fished on the weekend or not.
Live timing works.

Our TV coverage is not exciting. Our sports is exciting, and if you put three chimpanzees in the booth it would be as good or better than it is with Ricky and Diff in the booth.
F1 is relaxing and the commentary is intellectually stimulating. I almost have to run it back to catch all the strat calls they make on the fly. And Dave Coulthard is a riot when he's on.
They actually show battles regardless of where in the field they're happening. NBC is ashamed to show privateers battling unless it's to chuckle at their expense in the LCQ "HANG ON TOO [sic] IT"
Supercross it just gets so old listening to them pander to Joe six-pack while they zoom in on a rider for a goon session about how confident they are before going to the next rider to zoom in and goon about how hard they're rolling and how this is their best ride ever and it's just so amazing that they're riding with a sore shoulder and how amazing all these athletes are. They can't just call the fucking race to save their lives.
You can lead entitled brats to the water, but you can't make them drink.
Must suck to get so upset over commentating they can't enjoy what's right in front of them.

Can you do that about hardly any of the drivers in the other series? Are you as much of a fan of those and them?
MXGP covers the sport the way it should be covered period!! Its literally night and day compared to our coverage!! Go watch any weekend no matter where they are and you will clearly see how far behind our broadcast team is from the commentator to the camera crews!!
I only had time to watch the finals. Wille C usually has at least 4 in race segments but I didnt see any in the 250s on only one in the 450s. Hopefully its a permanent change.

Makes zero sense not to constantly try and get better. But they come from the high horse perspective, and yet the product is a poo poo and laughable. Easy, simple, smart changes can be made. If they even cared you would think they would try haha
Yeah, I’m only into exciting sports which is only Moto and UFC. Anything can be boring at times, but nothing makes me jump up, screaming at the top of my lungs then a great race, or a great fight. Get out of here with that stick and ball crap.
