Hmm. I would like to believe it, but there’s been absolutely nothing since the vague initial promo. And we’re not exactly sure that was verified to have come from Kawasaki and not AI.
It was definitely verified to have come from Kawasaki. They even bought ads during the SX broadcast.
It’s on Kawi’s social media pages, was on the SX broadcast and AC (Kawi’s poster boy) talked about it. Stew Baylor (Kawi’s rider/team owner in GNCC’s) confirmed it as well. It’s definitely not AI and it’s obviously in the works. I just wish they’d tell us what it is, even if they’re only expecting to release it in a year or whatever.
Did anyone catch the Instagram post from Kawi with the number 300 bike? Might be an underlying clue to a 300cc two stroke.

Or could've been a picture of Drew Adams, he ran number 300 up until this year.
You are 100% correct. I didn't realize this was his previous number. There's one shot in the video where you can see the name on the jersey.
I think I last viewed this topic around page 3 or 4. Decided to come back to see if anything new was going on since I haven't heard about what exactly Kawi is making.
Looks like this is now on page 32. And judging by recent comments still nobody has any idea what it is.
I'll try again around page 67.
* Edit - make that page 69. Giggidy. 😆
What’s this??
Clickbait.
Kawasaki official clickbait, to be specific. Notsuka is a Kawi factory rider in Japan national championship, and the tagged dude in the photo is a Kawi factory team r&d mechanic.
May not be related to the 2 stroke at all, though.
The first round of the Japanese MX championship is April 13. There is a history of Japanese manufacturers racing pre-production models in this series. Hopefully, we'll see it there, assuming they are coming out with an MX version.
FWIW, blur post is same rider that rode the prototype/preproduction versions of the current gen KX450 in Japan MX in '22-23. You also may remember him as the dude who landed on Jason Anderson at MXoN.
Probably more likely a next generation 450 blurred out. Whatever it is, it has an aluminum frame. As much as they could likely optimize a frame for KX300, the financial benefit of using a frame common to either the 250 or 450 seems like it would drive their choice. My glass is half empty response.
That was such a bummer for Jason, he was riding incredibly that day would have been awesome to see him in his second moto.
I asked AI to restore the blurred section of the image. 😂
Not to mention there is a lack of an expansion chamber.
I was trying to look for that as well. I can’t say definitively one way or the other.
Pit Row
No big muffler like a 4T either. Pretty conclusive, Kawi is building a reverse engine 300cc 2T. You read it here first.😂
First thing I noticed too. Either a new gen 450 or electric.
Probably about right, lol
A new two stroke for the steeets of Thailand or Indonesia. “We heard you…”
Wait. You all still dont know what they are releasing? haha... What's been going on in here for 30 pages?
A 300 one of these apparently
I'd truly love to see Kawasaki do something different like the Ossa, and that's why I put up the pictures and story of it, pages ago.
Well, I’m one of the minority that wants a regular 125 and/ or 250.
Outside of green plastics, why dont you just go YZ?
The thread is about a new two stroke Kawi right?
Part of my affection for two-strokes has always been their mechanical simplicity and ease of maintenance. The way that Ossa looks makes me think I'd rather get an amateur proctological exam than try working on it.
The answer was easy for me. Do I want a frame from 2005 at full price new(no). So I bought a 22 250sx brand new, don't regret it. Would I consider a new two stroke from Kawi with a modern chassis? Yes absolutely. That and a current yz450f are the only bikes on my radar at the moment dirt bike wise. Might get a tenere first though. Pol tarres makes them look real fun lol. But yeah, rather buy an older yz250 for what, 25% new if patient. And have basically the same bike minus plastics(which are easily swapped to current). It's wild cuz ktm 450s are 7500.00 right now, but the two stroke off-road models go for 10.5 and they aren't wanting to discount them at all from what I see.
Post a reply to: Kawasaki is bringing the two stroke back!
