Damnit that's a freaking race car. F1, IndyCar, IMSA, Top Fuel dragster. Nothing in the world looks more like a pure bred race car than a Outlaw sprint car.

He just got to run some laps. He isn't racing it. At least not yet anyway, maybe down the road.

That's certainly an opinion

Has to be one of the most well versed athletes in Motorsports without a doubt. Watched him race a UMP modified at Volusia a few years ago and it looked like he’d been doing it his whole life.

Sprint cars are even cooler without wings.

He won’t be racing one until he gets a few more laps under his belt, he was on Sprintcar Unlimited and stated that if he isn’t competitive, he doesn’t want to line up!

Hi and good morning ... Travis talked to Jeremy of Sprint Car Unlimited yesterday. No, he has no intention of racing one. Just a cool opportunity with RSR team. So relax everyone.

Cool for Travis, but Jeff Ward did almost win Indy in an open wheel car, remember? Travis getting 10th(?) at the Daytona 500 proved me wrong about his driving skills, he certainly is capable.

If there’s one form of open wheeel racing I’d love to try, it’s Sprint Car.

in iracing sim, they're barely drivable. they have super low participation rate, close to australian supercars, because they're just monsters. even with a small wheelbase motor, it'll rip the wheel out of your hands in the sim.

the 600cc micro sprints are a riot tho

never thought Id see Travis Pastrana "affraid" of doing something. Crazy!
I know hes not affraid OF THE CAR, but of the idea of flipping that car and getting stuck inside while it gets on fire. Cant blame the guy!

Travis is gettig old, little by little, which is interesting to see. Subaru/Vermont just made him a new "Lower-Spec" rally car for the american championship (which he won, like, a million times!) because he (as he literally said) cant beat his teammate anymore (pro-biker Brandon Semenuk, current 2 or 3 time champ?). The new specs of this lower-level subaru may even become the basis for a new cheaper class of rallying in america.

anyway, sprintcar racing is awesome, but the american series got too repetitive, now I enjoy following the "aussie champ". They are more relaxed there. Tracks and cars are "crappier", I like that. "Last race of the season" (ISH) was this weekend: Sprintcars | Red Hot Shootout 2025 - Toowoomba - 12th Apr 2025 | Clay-Per-View

Yep.  The wings on sprint cars look cool, and I think the speed of winged sprints is faster.

However, the racing in non-winged sprint cars is so much better.  The wings seem to make it easier to control the cars, so they do a lot more follow-the-leader than the non-winged sprints.

That has nothing to do with getting old.  Ever been in a race car or a stock car.  It’s really different & strange , Travis literally didn’t fit .   I was at a clay oval in upstate Ny. 2 summers ago .  38 cars 900 hp side by side driving in corners banging & rubbing . Huge grandstands where full people constantly on there feet watching the Awesome racing .  Gong Into  turn 1 it was rougher than a Mx track . Big crowd in the pits after the race , free entree , all the racers & everyone involved in the teams where Awesome with the spectators .  Clay oval is Super hard core racing .   In Wi. U could race 6 nights a week for yrs . In the 70,s the grandstands where packed . All the drivers had a ton of merch forsale at the grandstands.   Hard to beat the sound of 900 hp getting worked .
