Atlanta and Daytona security guards are the 2 reasons I went from individual wrist band all access passes to getting a hard card.

At Atlanta I could not go out the door that went over to the stadium. I had to go out of the pits at the opposite end like all the fans then walk all the way around the building and walk right past the door I couldn’t go out of to get into the stadium.

At Daytona EIDave and I were headed to the industry seating where at Daytona there is always 2 seating sections. My wrist band couldn’t get into one and Dave’s hard card couldn’t get in the other.

Lets just say that Daytona does everything extremely differently. Even getting your Daytona pass is very different than all the other races.

Chad Reed was dressed and went outside the pits to his car to get something and the guard he had just walked past going out wouldn’t let him back in because his hard card was in the pits.

Happy looking dude 😂

AC should have asked him for his credentials, can’t see any on display.

What a gigantic A-hole. Seriously if he does this to someone like AC, he is doing this to others. F this dude, little napoleon complex to the max.

Few years ago I went to the nascar truck race at Daytona. I won a drivers introduction access before the race. All it was is you got to get close to the drivers during introduction. We got to stand in the infield. Not being a huge nascar fan and especially a truck fan I was piss drunk and carried a beer with me and apparently I wasn’t supposed to. Nobody said anything but I had to pee halfway through it so I left. Everyone said you can’t come back if you leave. I said I didn’t care and it was kinda boring. I went and peed them somehow I wondered down pit row while everyone was getting ready for the race. I guess I got lucky and nobody seemed to care.

Daytona security is the WORST. My personal story about this is as follows.

I was working for the Honda road race team in the early 2000's. We arrived a few days before the race to set things up. As it was the first race of the year we were still receiving parts. So we had them shipped to Daytona. While driving back and forth from the infield to the receiving, which was across the street OUTSIDE the track, we were stopped every time. On one of the trips, keep in mind this is like our 5th trip of the day, heading outside the track they stopped us at the tunnel to ask us for our track credentials. They were not going to let us drive out of the facility if we did not show our credentials. And those security guards are dead serious about their job. Too funny.

So it does not surprise me that someone, in this case AC, would have a beef with them. They think they are working the perimeter at Fort Knox.

You can't expect any security guard to recognize you.

I used to work for the stadium where the Atlanta Falcons played. You would be shocked at how many agents and connections to the players refuse to wear their credentials when those are all that they need to get into basically every part of the stadium.

I had a couple of agents l, whom I didn’t know from a hole in the ground, try to get me fired for not allowing them and other people in their party into the locker rooms.

Poor guy can’t win. Eye witnesses say the security/sheriff was a clown.

And when a goat lover gets into the building with a bomb you’d complain that security wasn’t strong enough.

Nothing has changed at Daytona since at least the early 80's.  They were dicks to us back then and it continues to this day.
He's lucky that was AC and not one of the more hot headed dudes the way he ripped that credential out of his hands.

Strange things happen at Daytona. This is just another Daytona moment - or what we call now call "storylines"....

Ricky Ryan's win in '87, Scott Russell getting punched out at Razzells, Gary Bailey's problem, RC's first win, the Mud of 2008 or whatever year it was, the various wall jumps, (Stewart, Omara), a long history of strange security practices (remember the guys on the blue scooters that would ride up and down pit row and not let you step on foot across the white stripe on pit lane in the 1990's?), strange track layouts (how about the model of the Daytona Tunnel that was there for a few years).  Remember how the TFS guy used to complain about security there?

This AC story is just another hash mark in the Daytona history...

Did you not read what I wrote? They stopped me LEAVING. I personally would have no problem with a goat lover leaving the facility i am in with his bomb. Although not sure why an RC fan would want to blow up a SX? HAHHA

Being banned from the venue for the entire weekend is wild.

Last year they couldn't prevent a track invasion (while racing still went on). This year they are swinging their dicks around already on the press day on Friday.

I was talking with a Daytona 200/ American SSP racer and he said: If it isn't NASCAR, the Daytona track handles everything as a bunch of amateurs without any interest. They don't care about Daytona 200, Supercross, Flat Track,... I start to believe him more and more.

And NBC is good with this? Maybe Diffey and RC felt less threatened with Adam "in check"

Yesterday at the rcsx riders meeting Tim Cotter introduced that guy and openly called him out for the mishap and everyone lost it laughing.

Was he banned from the entire venue, or just from walking on the MX track itself?

The second post in this thread says "He’s already back in with his credentials returned."

Reading that was confusing a little because he was definitely here, but definitely not in the race course area.

Did they have the dude on race day live too? This almost seems a little staged maybe to distract people from what DB was about to drop.
