I’ve started shopping at smaller online retailers because they don’t charge sales tax. I live in a small state and online retailers don’t need to pay sales tax if their annual sale in my state are less than $100,000. It works out to about an 8% discount. With free shipping and price controls on most parts and gear, the no tax discount is consistently the best deal.

RMATV used to get all my business, and then I discovered Motosport offers a 10% military discount.  Motosport gets all/most of my business these days.

Always buy from your local dealership in person if you can! It’s slightly less convenient, but you help keep those local shops open and the relationship is reciprocal.  Nothing beats having things available in person even if a lot of the time you have to order it.  Those times that you can walk in and they’ve got what you need, you will have helped them make that possible.

And they pay you fantasy cash too. Score 70 points in rm fantasy, get $7. 46 points $4.60 etc. too bad I’ve sucked at fantasy this year on there. It’s good for like 4-6 weeks as they don’t want everyone building up 31 races worth I assume.

Between RM Fantasy Cash, RM Cash, and all my races I do also pay me another $10 in RM Cash, so I stick with Rocky Mountain.
I've had good luck with Motosport, Iron Pony, BTO Sports, OEM Cycle, Dennis Kirk, Slavens, and so forth.

How does that work ?  I was going to ask on here what is the best month to buy parts ?  For my own stuff I order from service Honda , parts r discounted.  Not sure if there’s a better Honda site.  I need reg stuff sprockets, chain, filters, pistons wossener not sure who sells them. Honda Clutch plates 1 of them is not made In Japan  . Thinking about using a different brand but don’t know which 1 is good. I talked to Hinson a few months ago , they sound good .

Mind telling which retailers?

I mainly use rmatv but recently discovered a 20% discount code on oem parts through mypowersports. I have not yet ordered from them so not sure if they are any good. Code is JA328

Like CC points, you get a small amount back when you buy something. You can use it on your next order or let it build up. It’s not much but it’s something

It's like cashback on a credit card. You earn a small percentage back on some items, however you also get the same currency from playing their fantasy, and it can be substantial. I usually save up from all my parts/gear/fantasy over the course of a year or so, and then get a bunch of oil/air filters free.

I’m done with RMATV. I dealt with their switch years ago from UPS to FedEx, not that big of a deal. Their newest switch from FedEx to USPS or Ontrac is a deal breaker for me. I can’t go racing every weekend and need parts, only to have them held up by delayed shipping times.

While you are sitting in the truck stop parking lot goggle your oil of choice and see the prices that come up. Usually makes more sense to buy from someone that offers free shipping or the savings of the oil will be offset by shipping

If you don't spend it within a certain time, it disappears. I'm not sure of the time frame, but I had a bunch saved and it disappeared. lol

I just use it every time I order, $1, $5, $100, I just apply it so I don't have to worry about it expiring.

Tried that. Then all of sudden one brother (owner) retires, other brother brings in son to replace his retired brother and all 15% parts discounts go away. So, I should drive one hour each way so I can pay full retail plus…..

Or, sit on my ass, push a few buttons and have parts delivered to my door with a 20% discount and free delivery?

The 15% savings was a total loss as 100% of nothing, is still nothing.

Great shop up until that point.

Your problem is thinking that you’re entitled to a discount.  Only in the world of MotorSports and auto sales do people think they should get a discount just for existing.  That is top tier lack of self awareness.  Support the small business.  That is quite literally how to support your local economy and culture.

If you don’t want to drive an hour, that’s understandable.  I get it.  Order online in that case.  The point is, buy local and support a culture and jobs.

People in our country really refuse to patronize a local business, because they want it cheap, fast and convenient.  Guess what? You’re not gonna get all 3.  And if you’re not willing to compromise, you the consumer are getting rid of the “America first” jobs.

Cutting off the nose to spite the face.

Telling me, without telling me, you never raced.
I do not take my discounts lightly or feel entitled. You are next level simple minded.
No only do I display the shops name via stickers, I make sure I speak highly of them, try to send them customers and have done that with pretty good success. All for a 15% discount.
I do not needs to keep anyone in business. If the owners know how to run a business, especially in the two wheel world, you support those that support you.
You just sound like a failed businessman.

And you sound like you are full of sht.
I owned a number of successful one man operations. Comfortably retired since my early 60’s thank you.
Been racing since 1974.
I am not entitled to any discount, as stated in my second post, I earn them. I display their stickers, I talk about my sponsors constantly, as I have the ability to speak one on one or to large groups, and I actually get people to spend money with shops and products that lend a hand. I will also speak highly of products I like, discount or not.
But, I can’t expect vitards to have any comprehension of what it takes to get get discounts and free products. It sounds like most of you do not race or never made it out of the novice class.
This industry was built on quid pro quo.
If you wish to pay full pop, by all means, be my guest. I earned my discounts, and I have no plans to not continue with what has been a beneficial relationship with shops and suppliers.
Seriously stupid people here.
