What is RC’s deal with Sexton? Full hater mode on the broadcast yesterday. I get it, Chase botched the start and has a habit of unforced errors (duh) but c’mon man. RC was relentless in criticizing Sexton, and had that been Tomac riding thru the pack he would have been frothing with the usual “Tomac going beast mode..” yadda yadda. I am gonna chalk it up to RC being salty that Chase runs the #4 plate and RC doesn’t like to share.

I think you're over analyzing and creating a false reality. He was calling a spade a spade.
Beef? Chase boned the start.
I agree with Meister.
I actually see it the other way around. From everything I’ve heard about RC’s upbringing, the mindset was that making a mistake once is understandable, but repeating it is unacceptable. I think RC holds Chase in high regard, which is why it bothers him when he keeps making the same mistakes. It seems like, to RC, that's unbecoming of a rider at Chase’s level and potential.
The funniest thing was him saying something like Webb wouldn't run into the start gate, get going and then crash two turns later 😂

Well, when you won as consistently as Ricky did...I think he has a valid point. I was waiting for Sexton to get passed by Webb...and it happened. Ricky seemed to know it was gonna happen when Sexton was out front and Webb was coming through and was calling the race as such.
Nah RC went overboard yesterday. Wouldn’t stop talking about it.
When did Webb pass Sexton? Chase was dead last
Think that's supposed to be Roczen.
Yup...my bad. I meant Roczen. Sorry. Sexton was buried but came back nicely.
I figured. Not exactly prophetic of RC. I think we all knew Webb was going to get Roczen. He passes him every time he's behind him like that
RC was saying some uncalled for things last night, when he said that and another mcadoo comment earlier I was laughing so hard
I know we are all on the Webb wagon, but no way Webb is coming through the pack from dead last to podium
Agreed, but the allure of Webb is he will never, ever by caught dead in last place, he’ll get like a 14th place start at the absolute worst because he doesn’t take the risks that Sexton does
I think It just frustrates RC to see this happen as he knows its VERY easy to back it down 5% and not crash as much. Chase is amazingly fast but he has the thought process of a 11 year old panic'd child.
I think that some folks want the broadcast to be more honest and call a spade a spade, but when the announcers step outside of neutrality some people feel personally hurt or like the broadcast shouldn’t share opinions. I like the insight and want more from RC
Most generally he doesn't have to.

"RC is too mean to my rider and now I'm butt hurt."
RC made zero excuses in his career and his mental toughness was legendary. He’s passionate about the sport and hates to see someone with Sexton’s potential throwing it away weekend after weekend.
I like Chase, and respect his talent and lack of quit, but how many races does the guy need to throw away before it’s not “hate,” it’s calling it like it is?
Pit Row
It’s not about RC pointing out a legit issue, it’s about his weird obsession with it.
What I want to know is does RC realize he is supposed to be calling a race and there are thousands of people listening? He's awful.
He only went on about it when they were talking about Chase at the start, then when replaying the crash to see what happened. The rest of the race was about Coop and Kenny, RC also praised Chase at the end for his grit and determination, while pointing out he digs his own holes 😂.
I see it as, RC is frustrated with alot of todays current crop of racers. Too busy focussed on vlogs and social media, only for a guy like Sexton to hit the fkn gate. How many gates did RC hit in his career? Maybe its just todays demands on a racer, but I think some of the top guys are more focussed on being influencers than being the best in their racing careers.
I don't remember anyone being this hard on my boy Tomac at A1 or his bad starts in the triple crown. More just an "aw shucks" bummer from the booth. Tomac used to be derided as a "head case", but perhaps with his one year only contract extensions the booth is being easy on him.
I like that nobody gives Tomac a hard time but there is clearly a different narrative with Sexton and from Ricky particularly. I don't think anybody will be tougher on it than Sexton himself.
Between that and the comment on the number of red flags this year, those are the first real opinions we've gotten from the guy in a long time.
He did seem to be a little extra harsh on sexdawg. He's not wrong, but gotta wonder if there's something there
This is what I feel too. I have been and continue to be very critical of RC in the booth and feel he should be out.......BUT if he would start giving real analysis along with his opinion it would be much better. Credit where it is due and honest criticism where it is needed.
"Text book nail into the start gate. What I mean by that..."
Sounded like he knows how great he can be, if he fix some issues.
People have been wanting RC to be more critical on the broadcast. He has the resume to be the harshest critic. I guess that was a glimpse of RC seeing Sexton do something unacceptable as a multi time champion, and saying it like it is.
I would say all of us here were saying the same thing to the TV as we were watching it. I think it was great to hear him speak on it the way he did. No beef needed, just call the action and call it like you see it.
All fair inputs.
If RC was equally critical of all riders it would be one thing, but he was all kinds of bitter and singled Chase out and had zero respect for the last - to - podium effort. My point is equal criticism across the board when deserved. He glosses Tomac’s knob every chance he gets/got. Same with the 38, when he probably deserves the most criticism this season for underperforming.
I wouldn’t say Haiden is underperforming, sure he hasn’t won every race so far, which was an unrealistic expectation, but he has been mostly consistent, which I think will help him to win the title, stay consistent, get wins when the opportunities come up, and then be consistently on/around the podium.
