Thanks, I knew I read somewhere they had some made in China. Not a very popular opinion, but not all things coming from China are bad. I remember my dad saying "I wouldn't buy that Japanese junk" and now it's some of the highest quality products. One day China products may have a good reputation.

Kymco is in Taiwan.

Prediction: after they FK over all their tier 1 suppliers through discharged debt and they have to scramble for replacements, their quality will sink even further, creating a feedback loop of poor customer confidence they won't be able to shake.

I should have explained that better. I have a 2025 ktm 250xc with the kymco cylinder and I had a 2024 250xc with no issues.

Will the avenues available to spread discontent these days - it doesn’t take a lot to have people turn.  Let’s just hope they figure it out.

Was riding my Arctic Cat snowmobile this weekend and stopped for lunch and grabbed the KTM hat out of the tunnel bag- Realized I have terrible choice in manufacturers...

Well KTM makes or made a great product so your choice was sound - unless you studied their balance sheet the couple of years 😎

Putting their tier 1s out of business would be a bad plan. I bet they pay them most or all of what they are owed which may not be as much as some seem to think. In automotive you don't get your suppliers to keep shipping parts very long if you aren't paying.

So back to 90’s/2000’s era KTM’s. That’s a scary thought !!

Husky and GasGas race teams to be cut from MX/SX before the end of the 2025 season. Rockstar is cutting back their investment with PMG. Depending on whether they can get new sponsors the Husky and GasGas race teams futures look grim. There are talks of discontinuing some of the GasGas models and shift it’s demographic market but that was just a rumored option. GasGas will soon offer a e-bikes that will compete directly with Suron. Determining if the brand would still be profitable as a Trials/Ebike only manufacturer are the discussions this week.

The GasGas name being branded into eBikes would be hilarious.

They probably can't do that contractually with Rockstar. Just about all the rider contracts expire after this season anyway. Looking at Racer X almost all 450 rider deals expire in 2025 not just the Austrian teams. There is a rumor Jett has been extended and I think Hunter is assumed to also but Prado and Craig look like the only riders that are officially signed for 2026.

Is it odd that everyone's contract is up this year?

The same parts can be sourced cheaper through Pierer Mobilities Indian and Chinese partners.

Maybe this was the plan all along?

This thread being 60 pages long admittedly I haven’t read every post so maybe I missed it. You’ve dropped a lot of big information posts lately. Care to share how or why you know these things? Anyone can get on here and say pretty much anything they like so just wondering respectfully about your credibility?

They might have some stipulation in their contracts about company bankruptcy or financial issues. I would be really surprised to see moto teams close mid season, especially given the relatively small price tag

Small price tag? They can't even pay their employees or their bills.

When will we get resolution on this issue…. Feb. 25th I believe, give or take a day?   I’m ready for it to be done and move forward one way or the other.

When we're talking billions, a few million to run your biggest marketing operation is small peanuts

Last numbers I saw, the net worth of their assets was in the range of 350 mil and their yearly profit is 190 mil range. Billions is just how much they owe and are trying to get out of paying.

Shutting down the race team midway through the summer would not save that much money, and they would potentially lose money from sponsors like Red Bull or Rockstar. There have been no claims KTM NA is losing money either. Why would you risk screwing up a division that is still making money?

I have a feeling that claim will age as well as the others. But who knows a lot can change in the next couple of weeks.

Shutting those riders down in the middle of the season will mean no top riders will sign with them for a very long time.
