Eli is a fucking beast riding a main with thst injury. On the toughest track of the year aswell.

But this season can get fucked. 2 former champions and championship contenders gone in back to back weeks. Right as the season was shaping up to be an absolutely epic year. God i hope Kenny, Cooper and Chase can all stay fit and give us a great season still.

It might just be the slightest hairline fracture.

The x-ray Yamaha showed looked like a pretty good break...

I'm thinking it was a hairline fracture when they took an x-ray and the track "doctor" didn't catch it. Then it displaced during riding.

Absolutely terrible, I hope he didn't do serious damage riding out there with that. Hope Eli heals up quick and is in a good place mentally.

At this rate there wont be any factory riders left before the season is over.

Could only have made it worse. Someone said it on pulp or vital show can't remember but its so true - Eli wouldn't  ride through that if he thought it would be worthless for the championship. Someone has fucked up here

I'm wondering if it wasn't this bad when he first did it, but after riding the heat/main it got worse and was more obvious on the X-ray, where maybe it wasn't beforehand.

Granted I'm no doctor, just a guess.

I think we have enough evidence to conclude that this medic crew has absolutely no clue what they're doing.

Maybe you can do a better job?

I was gonna say if it’s a pretty subtle fracture it might be hard to see on an xray and maybe got a CT or MRI. But after seeing the image, they shouldn’t have missed that. The last time I saw a picture in the Astars rig, they were using a mini c-arm for their imaging. Most def not ideal. They are mostly used for hand and foot surgery in the OR. Not for diagnostic purposes. I’m also guessing they don’t have an actual xray tech doing the imaging. While MDs know a lot of things, they aren’t xray techs, RNs, phlebotomists etc. There is a reason we go to school for that stuff, despite what some MDs (and others) think.

Everyone saying Chase has it now. I'd bet anything we see him throw it away more than a few more time  and Webb gets this title.

I was so scared that Kenny got hurt. That could've been so much worse.

I'm genuinely sad for Eli man. Fuck, this sport can be hard to be a fan of sometimes

If he comes back and does well in MX/SMX playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised to see him to one more SX season. I hope so.

Its crazy they couldn't spot the break but I had the same injury and it took a week and 3 doctors visits later to tell me my fib was broken. I felt fine but sore when it happened farming and worked the rest of the day. Then went to the gym and basically had to crawl out. Ankle and leg were so swollen still the next day I did a doctor visit. 2nd doctor visit I was told I tore ligaments. 3rd visit they said you broke your fib also. I had a really strong feeling that eli had more than a bruised calf or sprained ankle .

Is the xray that’s going around the one obtained by the Alpinestars med crew? Bc that fracture wasn’t subtle at all. I’m not a ortho but it’s still pretty obvious. It could’ve gotten worse after he went a did a heat and a main after the initial fracture.

If ankle and knee were stable they probably told him he could try to ride. Cannot imagine it was missed if he did get Xrays at track, but I'm guessing he declined them. Pretty unlikely that he had facture so subtle it was missed on xray but then became that displaced from use. Tibia does nearly all the weight bearing so if joints stable and you can tolerate the pain there's not ton of risk to giving it a try.

Do you have eyes, or sense sarcasm? Lol

It's a complete break and slightly displaced.

Haha I wish man, trust me.

For everyone saying the track docs suck, maybe they do, but the word is Tomac never went to the medic unit.

These are Tomac’s comments directly from the recently released PR.

Unfortunately, this was more than an ankle sprain and a bruised calf. After two days of pain not improving, I got additional scans on my leg, and I do have a broken Fibula.

Leads me to believe there was an initial x-ray somewhere and then 2 days later, with no pain relief, he got additional scans and knew for sure it was broken.

Yeah, if that's the X-ray from his actual fibula and they didnt see that then they weren't trying. Even if it exacerbated the break by racing the main they had to see something or their equipment is just shit.

Broken bones (especially mid-shaft like this one)are pretty damn easy for even an untrained eye to see. The pic above a fair lady from my state of Alabama (Helen Keller) could see this break..
