I worked at TLD for a while, bicycle division. I'd say, 10yrs ago, that dude was coming around-forgot who he was working for at the time, but one of the moto industry icons that I sat next to, told me day one "that dude is hella shady"....nice to know he spotted it early on.

I am razor focussed on this subject. Not something that was in the bingo card.
A lot of embezzlement is easy to prove once caught (and hard to recoup). Those are the addict ones. Drugs and gambling. Taking cash for yourself is blatant and obvious. Hiding your personal expenses in the business is harder to find. Why an agent would have access to the Lawrence accounts is baffling. This is exactly why businesses have things like review of expense reports, two signers on checks, etc.
I'm not an attorney but I do know that truth is a defense against libel. But deformation - how does one defend against that?

No, it's not. Because to prove embezzlement you first have to be entrusted with the funds or property, which makes it borderline a civil issue. Yes, it's been proven many times and convictions have happened of course, but it is NOT easy.
If he was literally taking cash withdrawals, maybe it's easier, but he'll still just say it was used as business expenses trying to further the Lawrence brand or value. If he was dumb enough to transfer into a traceable account and IF warrants are issued to go through those accounts, then yeah if he's buying personal vehicles or something that has ZERO chance of being explained as a business expense, it gets easier. I'm just telling you from real-world experience, embezzlement is an absolute mess of a case to build and the defense has a nearly endless bucket of explanations to use.
